My IRL friend is in need of some help.

Her dogs, Riley(a pitbull mix) and Cooper(a dachshund mix), mainly Riley, are in some trouble. They were going on a walk around their neighborhood when her neighbor's dog, a yorkie, ran out in the road. The other dog wasn't on a leash, just a shock collar. Riley and Cooper both attacked the little dog to protect my friend. The yorkie, sadly, had to go to the emergency vet. No organ damage, just torn up pretty good, but still a hefty vet bill.

Considering Riley is a pit mix, you can probably see her dilemma. The dog, in court, would be judged on the breed, but not the nature of the individual dog or circumstance. My friend loves her dogs more than anything, and she spoils them to death. She doesn't want to risk losing Riley...hell, I don't think anyone would in her shoes. Sure, the neighbor is partly responsible for not having her dog on a leash, but the chance of losing Riley is too great.

Instead of going to court, they agreed that my friend could pay half of the vet bill. My friend is too nice and she is trying to get it paid in full for her neighbor, and whatever is not paid will go to the Washington County Animal Shelter as a donation.
