Commission TOC

While I have yet to run into any trouble, I figure it's best to have this little FAQ up to protect myself in case of some future unpleasantness.
Q: HOW DO I COMMISSION YOU?
A: Just send me a note and we'll take it from there.
Q: HOW DO I PAY?
A: I accept paypal payments, money/postal orders. Payment is generally required upfront in full. When sending payment through Paypal, DO NOT add any notes. Just send the money and note me the name it was sent from. Paypal has this idea that anything furry/FA related is porn, and will shut any accounts that mention those words.
If this happens, you will not be refunded. Why? Because I would not have received any money, and so have nothing to refund you with. Additionally, if any payment is accompanied by anything that suggests/mentions furry/FA etc, the funds I received will be refunded to you and the commission cancelled. The amount refunded will be the amount I receive AFTER paypal fees. So, if you sent $5, I'd only get about $4.50, and this $4.50 will be the amount refunded.
When sending paypal payment, do not select the "goods" option, please select "SERVICES". This is because they require any GOODS purchase to have a printed out shipping form (which increases my costs), and if I don't produce these, then after a bit they decide I'm not shipping anything (even though I do) and will close the account.
DO NOT SEND ANY PAYMENT WITHOUT MY PRIOR CONSENT.
Q: HOW DO YOU SHIP?
A: Shipping of sculpts is normally shipped 1st class with Delivery Confirmation within the US. International shipping will generally be 1st class as well, but no Delivery Confirmation, as this isn't available without a tremendous increase in cost. However, if you're willing to shell out that much, I'll take out some kind of delivery confirmation. If you require overnight shipping or another such expedited service, the price of the commission will be adjusted to accommodate that request.
Any postage quote is very time reliant. Postage costs increase every so often, and if a commission decision/payment takes so long that the postage price has increased in the interim, the difference between the original postage quote and the current postage fees will be required before the commission will be shipped.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEVER GET THE SCULPT?
A: I cannot be held responsible for delays/lost packages once they're in the hands of the postal service. This also applies to incorrect delivery information given to me. Lost items will be investigated and replacement pieces, if necessary, will be sent out as soon as possible.
Q: WHAT IF A COMMISSION IS DAMAGED?
A: If an item arrives damaged, please let me know immediately. I will have the delivery confirmation notice to let me know when the item arrived, so if I receive a note saying the sculpt was damaged several days after delivery, there will be nothing I can do about it without requiring compensation for time and materials used in the replacement. Take a picture and send it to me so I can see what sort of damage has been done. I will get a replacement piece out to you as soon as I can.
In some cases I may need the item returned to me so I can affect repairs.
If an item is damaged through wear and tear, please be aware that this is a risk associated with anything in life. Sculpts won't just fall apart of break without some external influence. Remember that this is clay, not plastic, and so can be fragile, depending on the nature of the sculpt. Dropping, sitting on, over-eager pets with munchy jaws can damage the sculpt.
If minor damage occurs during your possession of the sculpt, let me know and I can give advice on how to patch it up. If it is damage you cannot fix yourself, you can send the sculpt back and I will repair it for you. In most cases, repairing won't cost you anything, though you will be responsible for the postage fees to get the sculpt here and back again.
Q: DO YOU SEND WORK IN PROGRESS (WIP) PICS?
A: I will send out Work in Progress pics, before baking and after painting, to ensure you get what you want. Changes are fine, but these changes cannot be extreme...such as change in pose, or complete color change.
Q: DO YOU DO REFUNDS?
A: Refunds are handled on a case by case basis. You have until the item is about to be baked to cancel a commission. Once the sculpt is baked, no refunds will be given. If a commission needs to be cancelled and is cancelled before the sculpt is baked, 25% of the commission fee will be retained to cover time, materials used, etc.
Cancellation refunds issued will also be what I receive after Paypal takes its cut. I would already be out time wise, and therefore refuse to also take a hit financially. For example: A commissioner sends me $50. Paypal takes its cut, say for example $5, so I get $45. A full refund would thus only be $45.
Rudeness at any point during a commission will likely find me cancelling the commission. You will be issued a refund as above.
Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY COMMISSION (WIP) PICS?
This depends on exactly what is being commissioned. The complexity/size of the sculpt will directly influence the time it takes to create it. This is also subject to real life situations, such as personal time, prior engagements, unforeseen circumstances, etc etc. I will give an estimated date of completion and shipping.
Q: WHAT IF I NEED THE SCULPT FOR A SPECIFIC DATE?
A: If you require the sculpt for a specific date, please be very clear about when you need it by.
Q: IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WON'T SCULPT?
A: I'm an anthro artist...human facial features are not my forte, but I will attempt them.
I will not sculpt another person's fursona for you if you intend to use that fursona sculpture in your own collection. I WILL sculpt another person's fursona if it is meant to be a gift for them. If you want someone else's fursona to be made for your personal use, I would appreciate confirmation from the fursona's owner saying I can do so.
Example: A commission featuring two fursona's in a sexual situation. Not everyone is happy with having their fursona randomly used in sexual art. I would like both owner's permission to go ahead. If this is also to be a surprise gift, I will do a bit of research to find out if said individual mind's having their fursona in artwork of that nature.
Anything else is really on a case by case basis.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Each case will be handled on a case by case basis, as each situation is unique. The above are merely guidelines which I will follow to ensure a smooth and hassle free transaction :) The above are also not complete...there are likely situations I cannot foresee, thus the case by case basis.
Should a commission be cancelled before it is baked, I reserve the right to continue with the existing work and sell it in an attempt to recoup the loss of time spent on it. I will keep the existing pose/look/sculpt/theme/style etc etc of the existing work. The original fursona will not be used...instead I will turn it into either a random species or offer the existing work up to other interested parties wanting their fursona in the existing pose/look/sculpt/theme/style etc etc.
