Pawpaw wasn't perfect. He had bad days. But he raised his only son to be a good, strong and kind person. He would give the shirt off his back in the middle of the winter if someone needed it, even though he had almost nothing of his own.
He never wanted to burden others with his pain, so his death came as a surprise to everyone. Everything he owned was given to people who needed it.
His ashes are being held at the mortuary where he was cremated until his family can gather the money to pay the fees. His step daughter is trying, as are we, but supporting ourselves has been difficult enough as it is. And we know that he wouldn't mind... but how long must his remains stay in a cold, sterile place?
