Also! Diabetics Unite! Shout out here what type and how long! All of us with Wilford Brimley Disease need to help each other out!

*scared*
*Has already been tested* *does not have*
Have you been tested for hypocondria? Its not an offensive question, its just.... you have a lot of fears. Some that seem a little unjustified
I'm not like...crazy afraid of things.
I dunno.......Do I seem crazy afraid of things?
diabeties
few other things you've mentioned
Diabetes is cuz...its just...horrifically inconvenient and scary.
also, family of diabetic or diabetic yourself?
Type one is called Juvinile Diabeties because its normaly diagnosed in children under 21 BUT there have been older people diagnosed with it.
I am one of the "lucky ones" that had a virus attack my pancreas and kill that part that produces insulin...
the rest of what you said is correct
also, mention this journal to Apotcastasis if you like!
Cut down on Sugars and carbs is the main thing.
Look at the nutrition label and do the serving per carb thing.
Sugar Alcohol and fiber count against the main sugar content and is a good thing.
Exercise more because there have been cases where a better diet and more exercise has lowered the symptoms to where it seems to disappear.
What state does he live it? Can he get Medicaid? Because it might be worth it for him to get it if he can.
SO AGAIN RUSTYBUTT! IF YOU READ THIS< GET A METER!
diet and exercise will always help if weight is a factor, oral medication will help if he can find a competent doc... and NO ALCOHOL, FATTY FOOD OR SWEETS!
may i suggest a free clinic? it's not great for the long run, but fixing the issue early will help prevent organ damage/failure, nerve loss, blindness, and a great number of horrible things.
getting insurance is key. test strips, insulin, needles... i'm a type1 and my insurance pays $80k a year to keep me alive. ...
NEW TREATMENTS!!!:

I'm a diabetic with a sweet tooth so yeah, it doesn't help. but I do treat myself occasionally to little snack sized ones
I have to disagree with you
Plus there are many complications that can happen with a g. bypass
he doesn't have insurance. he doesn't really have money for something like that.
I suggest he get a job with insurance asap however as that s the only way he can continue to be safe and healthy, surgery or not.

gong on 9 years
i found out only after i collapsed at work my leg refused to function it was due to the non healing wound on the underside of my big toe becoming [] this close to being gang green (septic)
since then ive suffered ostiomylitus (bone infection) a lot
the bacteria got into the foot and leg ive lost 1/4 of the foot an have muscle/nerve damage from the bacteria toxins
check your feet for ANY scratch or wound treat it seriously and immediately or it will take you out check your sugars! check them regularly
i got a great bargain on a nice meter its the wave sense presto nice mp3 player sized 1.5 in x 2.5 x .5 clear backlit meter no code strips
meter and 110 strips came out to be $42 bucks (the strips cost meter was free)
http://www.wavesense.info/presto
the strips aren't like the others at near a dollar a strip its more like 50 cents testing can get to be expensive when first diagnosed and doctors want multiple readings in a day to see what sugars are doing
Still it's scary stuff, definately....no doubt. Serious stuff
but yeah, go get yourself checked. Hell... if you look at it the right way, everyone shows signs and symptoms...
I guess alot of my friends are scared cuz of my family history, and the fact that I just eat constantly like a slob
I actually have physical due in May....my first one since 1995. Kinda scary. I know they'll give me shit right off the bat just cuz I'm like 340lbs. And I hate getting lectures and shit. It's like yah...I get it, but life sucks, whatever.
Goddam, I'm just bitter in my old age (I'll be 29 on 2/17)
lots of things I get yelld at
At least I'm not paying for it...my insurance covers it
NO WHITE BREAD! NO SUGAR!
Umm oatmeal and real cinnamon slow the absorption of sugars
you can get cinnamon caplets from a health food store
Chromium Picolinate is also very good for diabeties
fiber is friend as is cheese fiber slows absorption and cheese is hard to digest so uses a lot of available sugars.
avoid processed sugars and foods as you can
eat many small meals over big ones. eat something small before going to bed. during the fasting time while sleeping soemtimes the liver can get signals of OH NOES THERE BE NO SUGARS. and will make them in abundance. which is why i used to wake up with sugar readings in the 300 range which is way bad.
also do not go crazy like i did and stop eating. that only makes it worse.
dandelion root has phyto insulin and can help with diabeties. (sorry writing it down as i remember things) not great to take with the pills or other insulin but if you have niether it helps. and i had to rely on it for a while when i was moving and ran out of meds entirely and could not get to a doctor.
it will take time to get it under control. being sick or having stress will raise and lower sometimes rather randomly and quickly the blood sugars. Sometimes your pancreas will go gung ho with insulin and sometimes it may say BAH YOU DO NOT NEED MY PRECIOUS FLUIDS and cut you off. i know this keeps happening to me and well it is not good cause then if you are one meds they have to keep redoing them.
diet can help a lot as well as exercise. avoid almost all carbs and sugars. if you cut them out TOTALLY it can backfire. so low carb and some types of sugars like fructose are good for you. ... i cannot really think of anything else that may help. other than exercise and train yourself that sweet is nasty. that helps keep you from eating to much sweet stuff. i know i get sick now from even one cookie or snack cake and it keeps me a bit safer.
its not no sugar, its decreased sugar
also 4-6 small meals a day, it has kept me the same size since high school, which is a nice size
"avoid almost all carbs and sugars. if you cut them out TOTALLY it can backfire. so low carb and some types of sugars like fructose are good for you. ..." and yeah i mentioned the whole some sugars since the whole cutting off all sugar was quite a bad thing when i did it but then i was discovered with it with a reading of 485 so i kinda panicked hard. especially since i was hypoglycemic for ten years.
Still need to lose weight.
Main thing is to cut out the sugar. I used to do 2-3 2 liter bottles of soda a week. Now, my main beverage is unsweetened green tea.
look art amd see how much it will cost for a doctor.
you don't need a dietitian. we are with out insurance and doing fine.
get his heart and circulatory system checked every 6 months to a year. Unless something doesn't feel right because heart attack and clots can come out of nowhere.
look into the Atkins diet because that's really close to an ok Diabetic diet. keep peanut butter on you or close enough encase the sugar drops and the shakes start.
NOPE NOPE NO DIER BEETES HERE
NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE .....
Where are my chocolate chip cookies
*pelts you with sugar free life savers, which are surprisingly good*
