Guardians of the Galaxy is Awesome! (Mini Review!)
First off I want to start things off that except for Guardians it was a pretty weird day.
I took
wildpawe out to celebrate her birthday.
She wanted a full course pizza dinner so we went to Pizza Hut. We got there, made our order and sat for over 40 minutes before asking the waiter where everything was. We hadn't even gotten our drinks yet.
He came back with our drinks and told us he forgot to put our order it, it's not even started. He apologized and said drinks were on him.... we just left.
Then after the movie, we went to Cold Stone to get dessert. I don't know what it is about that Cold Stone, but once again Luna got a dud. She ordered a Waffle cone sunday and the cone itself was soggy and chewy.... almost flavorless like chewing a wad of paper.
Before the movie there were 3 previews
#1. Hunger Games Mocking Jay Part 1: Part 1 of what you expect.. MOVING ON.
#2. Into the Woods: I didn't even know they were turning this into a movie, this is one of the many many shows I saw live on Broadway growing up as a kid... I was able to guess what the movie was just be the few scenes at the beginning. I am stoked to go see this film.. BUT.. I think they really needed Bernadette Peters attached to this project! She was the life blood of the original show!
#3. Night at the Museum 3: Looks like a normal family affair and semi entertaining like the previous movies.... up until the end. The last moment of the preview, the mini cowboy and roman hoplite are about to be killed by Lava in Pompii... only to have a full size monkey come out and piss on them and the lava to put it out. Just when they agree to never talk about it again, the monkey pisses on them again. This really ruined any chance or want to even rent this movie.
Luckily the feature movie was awesome, so here's the mini review.

Honestly, the movie was simply great. It had the right amounts of humor and action, but there were some very minor nit picks that got to me rather quickly. It is definitely worth going to see and to me had a very strong "Hitchhikers" guide with the mix of comedy and action, compared to the movie in the early 2000s, and the early 80s series.
Good
+All the main characters are fleshed out
+The effects on Rocket and Groot
+Every character is likable yet kind of an asshole
+The strong film presence of all the characters
+Thanos was imposing
+Genuinely Funny in many places
+Great action scenes
+The rocket launcher scene, you'll know it.
+Homage to many sci-fi clicks of old.
Bad
-Ronin seemed way to hammy and b-movie at times.
-Starlord has been in space for 26yrs, since he was 8-10 yrs old.... yet he still acts like a fish out of water. This bugs me because most people would have adapted and started using new idioms by then.
-The characters seem to suddenly bond for no reasons, they go from trying to kill one another to just teaming up and even covering each others back within scene transitions.
-COMIC NERD MOMENT: The infinity gem shown is the "Space" gem which allows instant movement around the universe, and omnipresence... not destruction.
-COMIC NERD MOMENT: Thanos is called the most powerful being in the universe, yet the Collector is as powerful if not more so in many respects (might need to double check sources). However, if they said Thanos was the most dangerous, I'd agree.
-COMIC NERD MOMENT: ROCKET'S ORIGIN HAS BEEN CHANGED!! In the comic, his species looks like raccoons. In the new movie, he's a genetically modified and cybernetically enhanced vermin/creature.... I did not like that change.
All in all, if you like sci-fi, action and a good laugh.. go fucking see this movie.

Being unique, having a painful past and having to cope with being an engineered being struggling to forge his own place in the stars against all opposition, that made him a far more unique character. It made the viewer empathize with him more. The scene where he really cuts into the team and everyone looking about just how painful his creation and life had been was pretty moving.
Still, I wouldn't mind if he were a modified and enhanced person on his own species.. made expendable.. just thoughts.
Pressing a button made the damn thing sing one of the signature songs.
Long overdue a good cinema night
Also:
Argh, I just got rickrolled by your profile! hehe.
Here is one link, I can't find the one with the pictures. One photo looked like a guy flat out died when it happened XD.
Or he was abducted and tested on..
Eh, still damn good,
*Snugs a Flynn*
