This picture is about spot-on, closely followed by this body and legs and this body and head.
The feral badger head shape (skull & hints) is a very significant part of this character.
Eurasian badger, 4' tall but standard anthro body size, meles meles, semi-feral, metallic gold borders to his head markings. Generally good natured, stubborn, overly loyal once committed, introverted, sly wit, scrupulously honest unless he deems it better to withhold information. He practices illusion magic, usually of the glowy blue variety, hunting for old books in second hand shops, reading them casually in traditional pubs while nursing a pint, doodling small cantrips for the curious company it draws, and is learning kung-fu.
He has this mostly black variant, which works particularly well when he's mysteriously made of glossy rubber, black where he's normally brown/grey, but preserving the white and gold. Which is something that happens to magic-using badgers sometimes.
Presents as Disney male due to covert PPSH intersex from 5-ARD (he doesn't use terms like vagentleman/c-boy), wears glasses for reading and/or gold-chased red waistcoat for pockets, but relies on his fur for modesty and warmth. His condition is known to his immediate family and his girlfriend.
Badgers have a pale undercoat with dark guard hairs, giving them a pepper-grey look over most of their bodies. The black markings have a dark undercoat, the white areas have white guard hairs.

This is him too, but he's a bit more anthro in this than he should be: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17550527/
I want a happy and relaxed artist who's somewhat enthused in what I'm asking for, who'll warn me if there are likely to be difficulties with the details I stress up front as key aspects of the commission, while delivering within the PayPal period if paid in advance and keeping in touch enough so I know they've not fallen off the face of the earth. In return, I won't pester or change things already complete (without compensation), will respond quickly to questions, and I'll have the money ready if I'm paying in arrears. Anything extraordinary on either side, we let each other know as soon as reasonably possible.
Key aspects for me are typically things like being familiar enough with the species to make them look characteristic: stylised interpretations are fine, but a hyena isn't just a funny-looking dog or cat.
