PROPOSAL: Prov. Animal Rescue League pet walk, Sept. 20

I am proposing the opportunity for us as a group to attend the Providence Animal Rescue League's 26th Annual Pet Walk on Saturday, September 20. The event starts at 10 a.m. and goes until about 3 p.m. It will take place by the Temple to Music at Roger Williams Park in Providence. It is very important that I find out now if people have any interest in this for two reasons:
1. Since this is a charity event, I would encourage everyone to raise or donate money for this. We would only have a month to do this, and the sooner we start, the sooner we can promote this to furries in other states. I can download pledge forms or set up an online fundraising web page.
2. If anyone is even thinking of coming to this event in fursuit, I must let the organizers know RIGHT NOW that people in animal costumes will be coming by. Besides the obvious security and safety reasons, there will be entertainers there and we don't want to interfere with the event's plans.
So if you are up for this and have any interest in going, please respond to this journal or contact me directly. If the overall response is not too enthusiastic by the end of August, then I'll scrap these plans.

* 10:00 AM - Registration & Morning Activities, Check-in at the registration booth and turn in your donation sheet and money raised. Shop in our Mutt’s Marketplace and enjoy the many fun activities that await you! Dress up your pet in costume and win prizes! This year's theme is "Dogs in Outer Space!"
* 11:30 AM - Opening Ceremonies & Canine Costume Contest, Walk with your buddy, walk in honor of your favorite feline or in memory of a past pal! It’s a beautiful scenic walk through Roger Williams Park! Water stations and rest stops are along the way.
* 12:00 PM - Walk Begins! Participate in one of the canine competitions! Have fun! Win prizes! Only a $5.00 donation for lunch or you are also more than welcome to bring your own lunch.
* 1:00 PM - Lunch & Canine Competitions Continue, Individual and Pack prizes awarded to the Top Fundraisers! Raffle prizes!
* 2:00 PM - Awards, Grand Prizes & Raffle Drawing! Individual and Pack prizes awarded to the Top Fundraisers! Raffle prizes!
