So Net Neutrality Dies on September 15, Help Fight Back!
Net Neutrality is still in danger, on September 15th 2014, the FCC will stop taking comments and information on Net Neutrality.
Without Net Neutrality we'll be subjected to a pay per access billing by ISPs much like cable company packages for channel access.
Want Youtube? That'll be extra
Want Netflix? That'll be extra
Sorry, no packages include FurAffinity since they didn't pay the ISPs to carry them.
To fight back, today is "Internet Slowdown Day" where people fighting to keep Net Neutrality are using the lag symbol to show the world what it may become without Net Neutrality
I spoke about this in earlier journals http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6088429/ and the escapist has made their own article http://www.escapistmagazine.com/new.....n-Internet-FCC
Finally this http://imgur.com/gallery/c2zbK
However, we can still fight back against the FCC closing Net Neutraility, with a large enough outcry we can force it to stay in effect so follow these instructions.
This is a direct letter to the FCC
1) Click http://www.fcc.gov/comments
2) Scroll to 14-28 Protecting and Promoting the Open Internet (direct link http://apps.fcc.gov/ecfs/upload/display?z=qsp2r Make sure 14-28 is in the Proceeding Number)
3) Fill out the form and comment Comment "I want Internet service providers classified as common carriers" (I added Net Neutrality must be upheld to promote diversity and competition on the net)
4) Done
Hopefully this helps, I refuse to let people who just want to use the net be exploited more than they already are.
College Humor explains why we need Net Neutrality better than I can, my example is based similarly to this.
Also this satirical IMGUR post helps elaborate my point http://imgur.com/gallery/d7tHGtY
TotalBiscuit has also brought up what the loss of Net Neutrality means

The info I linked is a direct letter TO the FCC.
but still as it stands i've never seen a single good argument/reason for the net to be controlled in such a way. making it purely about money is just an excuse. -_-
this whole thing is just... criminal
Standard Package: Google and Facebook
Expert Package: Google, Facebook, youtube, twitter
Gold Package: Google Facebook, youtube, twitter, hulu, netflix
Extreme Gold: Etc etc etc
Which is why so much of the web is fighting it.
The problem is, Net Neutrality already has been killed, it ends on the 15th.
Sure, it'll more then likely come back due to public outcry but every voice should be heard to make sure shit like this doesn't happen again.
The link I gave was the official FCC site.
However by speaking up, we can bring it back sooner and stop it from being killed again.

Furaffinity would work fine since it would be included in the normal fee. ISPs would likely charge extra fees just for services like Youtube or Netflix that are popular and needs lot of bandwidth.
Don't get me wrong, I support net neutrality but I don't like unrealistic scare tactics like that.
Also, more then likely it may not since well it's a small website with little traffic
College Humor explains it better then I can http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjOxNiHUsZw
So they're going to let the bill lapse, but what of this deal? There needs to be some set of rules governing the internet. If no rules exist there is a vacuum.
Think about that, private interests?
They better had not disabled it.
...suspicious
I think we're breaking it.
Maybe we broked it.
Still, we need to excise our rights and show we won't stand for this crap when it comes up
I believe the problem lies with us, the people. We've become lazy and content with just "speaking up" and hoping that it works. I believe the only thing that will work is to actually do something. If your net provider tacks on additional charges because they're now allowed to, drop them, cut the cable and go without their services until they get the message.
Anything less than that just won't work, yeah, we can bitch and moan but in the end if we're still paying them to pull this bullshit they won't have any incentive to stop.
Them: "Yeah, you say you hate us; yet you still pay out the nose." *thumbs nose*
If a bill that punishes you for not having health insurance can pass, what do you think will happen here?
Kind of like how game companies are now gating off content via Disc Locked Content.. because they can

I have signed as well and saved the number and took a screenshot of it. I am going to post a journal up about it as well to spread the word. It is quite important.
There throwing more money at this than the US spends on it's military budget.... they REALLY want this and there not letting it go
I'm honestly starting to get a little frightened by the whole thing. The sad truth is
that I can't really fuction in normal society. If Comcast and their clones take away
sites like FurAffinity, through one form of paywall or another, I don't know what
I'll do. I'd have literally lost the only family who understands me.
