The Gumdrop Rally Art Challenge
Just reposting this just to give you all a reminder.
Welcome to the 2014 Gumdrop Rally 10,000 Art Challenge!
What is the Gumdrop Rally? It is a very demanding multiple-terrain race that stretches from one corner of a continent to the next. Your task is to design a capable rally-going vehicle that can endure the trials and tribulations of this wild cross country course start to finish.
Think Wacky Races mixed with Speed Racer and throw in a little Cannonball Run, and you kind of have an idea of the lighthearted theme of the race.
You have complete and free reign over the design of your vehicle. It can be something that has been inspired by existing vehicles or completely invented by your imagination. Anything goes for aesthetics!
To give you a better example on the kind of designs you can expect to see, here are a few entries from the previous art challenge:

You can use any medium to design your racer: traditional, digital, sculpted model, CGI, etc.
Deadline for all submissions is February 28.
Once the deadline ends, there will be seven days open for voting. Anyone is free to vote on the entries – including participants themselves. They will be tallied up at the end of the week and three people with the first, second, and third highest votes will get a drawing by me of their vehicle and character next to them with a podium styled finish.

Some of you are already familiar with this contest. And with that said there are a couple of changes made to this contest, so be sure to read all of the rules BEFORE you decide on participating.
Rules:
1. All vehicles submissions are required to ride on wheels at all times. No hover or flying systems in place. You can have any number, size, and assortment of wheels that you would like but your racer MUST be ground based.
2. Your entry must be created by yourself. Artwork, photos, or screenshots by someone else is NOT permitted.
3. All entrants from the previous Gumdrop Rally are not allowed to submit the vehicles from their previous contest. You will need to create something new to make things fair.
4. Direct copying of an existing vehicle or design will no longer be permitted. You can draw or create something inspired by an existing design but tracing over that is unacceptable for an entry.
5. Weapon systems of any kind are forbidden. That includes anything that can be used to disable other vehicles. This is a rally race, not a combat zone.
6. You must have a character/driver to go with your vehicle. They don’t need to be drawn with your submission, but you must establish who will be paired up with your vehicle.
7. Once you completed your entry, send a note to me with a link to your artwork. You are free to post your submission on FA, but be sure to include a link to this journal about the contest. Your entry will not count if you do not link me to your submission!
8. This is a clean contest, so please keep your submission PG rated. This should be a no brainer.
9. Only one vehicle submission per entrant is allowed.
If you plan on watching and voting then please follow these guidelines:
1. Voting will not take places until an announcement after the deadline of February 28. Any sent in before that will not be tallied.
2. All entries should be judged on various qualities (performance, aesthetics, level of coolness, etc.). It IS NOT recommended that your decision is based solely on one – in particular, realistic mechanical accuracy. Not everyone submitting art is a die-hard gearhead so please keep that in mind when the time comes for making your choice.
