That sucks. Facebook doesn't seem to understand that more people know us by our alias/furry names than by our real names. If I want friends and family to find me, I use my furry name. They only time I ever use my real name on the net is when I'm doing financial stuff, such as paying bills or making purchases, which I'd never ever do through something like Facebook.
I suppose they'll eventually delete my account too, even though I've been known as FoxWolfie to everyone for the past 18 years.
They require all users to only use their real name. As they discover furry, and other alias names, they ask users to change them to real ones, and if they don't, they delete their accounts. Some people use Facebook for years with a furry name without being noticed. Others are discovered shortly after they join. I guess it depends on how fast someone reports them.
There is hope on the horizon. They are starting to revise the policy for the lbgt that use alises to protect themselves and i could see how there could be an argument made to protect our furry alises , but it would require that if your account is flagged that you explain to the reps why it is not just a simple false account used by spamers ,hackers and abusers.
