I'd try not to post up too much info just to prevent people from swarming the user.

I would report the images on dA that belong to you and contact the IMVU site stating that you have been impersonated.
Since you are the creator of the artwork/characters they will listen and take action as both sites have rules against copyright infringement and impersonation.

You can report it to the IMVU contact page with this image as proof. You can also post pictures of your sonas with their timestamps of when they were posted and threaten for fraud. If nothing else, it will get them IP banned for up to 7 days, in which case their account will show fraud.

Why do they do it?

Because they're Narcissistic Dickbags who want to screw everyone over for a quick buck, and think they are 'so clever'.

I believe he/she got confused on the part where the person said that the impostor uses DA as wel to show off artwork.

HOWEVER, this person did not made an alternate DA account. He is just using Kero's own DeviantArt and claiming that is his official site and art, in order to get customers.

Nope. The person that contacted Kero about this whole issue said that the impostor claimed that "he also claims that this is his DA page" referring to Kero's DeviantArt site where she received the message she screenshoted to show us.
Kero does have a DA, but only uploads art on there. She does not take commissions there.

There are plenty of ways, chiefly among them is spreading the word. With enough people looking, he can be caught. Sh!theads like this that hide behind anonymity and reap benefits on false promises with absolutely no other effort need to be brought down hard.

Bueno, dice la gente que te puedes contactar con los administradores del sitio chat IMVU para decir que el personaje que están usando te pertenece y se están aprovechando de ti. También hacer un comunicado especial en tu página principal de FA y DA de que solo usas estos dos sitios. Que cualquier otro lugar con arte tuya o que clamen ser tú no lo son. Ponlo en letras grandes para que no digan que no avisaste. Si necesitas ayuda traduciendo o algo, cuenta conmigo.

the only ways i could see it stopping is either watermarking the shit out the pictures , i mean it ruins the picture but i guess it stops the theft because most people will usually identify the mark with the artist, the other i don't see happening is that places like here and DA make it somehow impossible to right click and save uploaded art but i don't see this happening .
