My normral work schedule is 11p-7a wed-sun.
My hotel is getting a new system put in and the training on it starts this Monday.
So this week, I'm off Saturday night and not only will I be 11p-7a sun-fri, I'll be there 8a-12p mon-thu and 9a-12p on Friday. While the training for most of us will stop there, myself, the manager and the two who cover my off nights will be there 8a-9:30 the following Monday to train for the night audit.
And in addition to that, when there's nothing to do at night, I'll be working on keying in reservation info from the old system into the new system.
The new system is capable of importing the reservation info from the old system, especially since both systems and the new program is made by the same company, but they want 3 freakin' thousand to do a type of thing thing that even free programs can do, Firefox importing Opera's bookmarks for example.
While the owner of my hotel isn't cheap, it's understandable why anyone would not want to pay such an outrageous amount for something so simple, so that's why myself, the other two who cover for me on my off nights and people on other shifts will be working on keying in the reservation info. AND it has to be done by the time the new system goes live on the 18th.
Long story short, I'm gonna be getting behind on things in the next week :-P
The 11 hours between 12 noon and when I go to work each night is time for me to get enough sleep, so that's not a problem.
The IT guy who'll be training us is a really nice, upbeat kind of person who likes to joke around, so the classes won't be boring.
After I get out of there next Friday, Friday the 13th no less, I've got 3 straight off nights in a row and if the work schedule goes back to normral the following week, other than being there 8a-9:30 on Monday, I'll be off for 5 nights in a row.
I think when I get out of there at noon on Friday the 13th, before I go home, I'll go to the Kroger next door and get myself a steak to grill for my dinner.
