A tiny rant about sexuality!
⭐️ be rootin, be tootin, and by god be shootin ⭐️ Not that I really have time, seeing as I'm leaving for class in T-minus-twenty minutes but hey, I can make this fast :D
I started (and finished) reading this educational sex-friendly (Sex-based!) webcomic, http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/
Aside from really recommending it because it talks about things that I wish I'd known sooner, and gives a totally relaxed and candid feel of a healthy sexual relationship, it stirred up a little rant in me that I need to spill out on the page. Take it how you like, but this is my give-it-a-go!
Sexuality is probably a lot more forced in our community than I originally thought it was. At first I thought that sexuality was just promoted and welcome here, but now I'm becoming a tidbit annoyed at how forced some of it feels. It's like a site full of selfies where the arm is stretched out, best angle, lookit how perfect I am, and there's not a huge amount of realism to anything anymore. Yes, I'm well aware that I'm talking about furry anthopomorphic animals, and I'm guilty of the same thing, but hear me out.
Realistic sex isn't always about taking as big of a cock as you can. Realistic sex isn't always abut looking your best. Somewhere in this idealized setting we've made, we've lost some of what makes sex really awesome: being close with someone, being together. Squishy, not always attractive, warm, sweaty togetherness.
I want to try to draw things closer to that, and less 'look how much cum is on my face'. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's some negativity brewing in the world of over-idealization.
Another thing I want to bring up...
Girls, why is it that we're taught that the worst word you can call someone is a cunt? I swear, you can call someone a dick all you want, but the moment you pull out the C word or call someone a twat or a pussy, woah.
It's as if the worst thing a man can be called is a woman. And the worst thing about a woman is her sexuality.
Girls, lemme tell you a thing. Your pussy is awesome. It's wonderful, and it's not meant for shock value. For anyone who has ever looked down and felt like there was no good word for your own genitalia, neverfear. Because we're going to take back the words coochie, twat, pussy, cunt, and everything else that has been an insult for far too long.
Fuck it all, I'm tired of it, at the very least.
If I'm going to candidly talk about pussies, then fuck it, that's the word I'm going to use. Because when you bloody think about it, there's almost no good name for genitals anymore, and that's a damn shame.
Like half the euphemisms I think of for vulvas fall into the category of insults, animals, food or something scary.
Ax wound, honey pot, bearded clam.... ugh.
well fuck that shit.
seriously. ugh.
Fucking sick of it.

However, I dare you to go out and talk about vulvas with the word cunt. You will be glared at so quickly.
Then there's the fact that aside from those words: twat, cunt, pussy, coochie, most other words for vaginas are just GROSS. I dont want to think about tuna taco, holy crap. That's like calling a dick a cheese-pop and expecting to still be turned on by it. Gross.
Where d'hell is that favorite button!
Was the realistic sex part of the sexuality thing? :P Furries go far into porn porn porn and just like how people who watch too much professional porn, furries tend to get a warped sense of what they desire from too much furry porn. As you said, taking the biggest dick is the perfect example. Intimacy, passion, and sharing something with someone is where it's at. That, and squishy people :3~
As someone who grew up with a bunch of girls in high school, I used to get punched so hard when I accidentally dropped the cunt bomb when everyone else says dick and cocksucker <.< I always thought that was a double standard. I should be able to say whatever swear word I want as an Australian :3~
if you cant take a traffic cone without lube than might as well gtfo!
haha only kidding but theres my little rant to go with yours
About the insults well to be honest we have our ancestors to blame, when women had no rights and such. Men were such assholes and there still are plenty. But its much widely used than just guys everyone insults with female genitalia names regardless of gender. Could be perhaps of how complex females are. Just a thought idk really.
We see big dicks, buckets of cum and all that stuff because... Well. It's fantasy. No one wants to go to a Monster Truck rally to see a short-bed truck run over big wheels. We want to see Gravedigger plow through a flaming wall made out of Honda Civics.
You, for instance, seem to have something of a thing for somewhat pretty, athletic men. Most of the ladies I've seen in your gallery fall into a similar range. Most sex isn't going to involve people that are nearly as good looking as the guys in your gallery. They're unrealistically pretty ( by most people's standards ), because of the medium they're created in, and the reason you draw them.
I guess what I'm saying is, it is what it is.
Even I sometimes when drawing will have periods of "calm down groins, thats not what sex is about, really. No, not even then".
And on a sidenote, I completely agree with all the female epiteths thing, that' s totally unfair and a dick move
How pussy does even try to be an insult? I am a pussy :D
Say pussy, it slides over one' s tongue (no double entrende, well, maybe a bit now).
Pusssssssssyyyyyyyyyyyyy I wish I had synestesia I bet that word would be fun puuuuuuuussssssssssssssyyyyyyyyyyyy <3
At least Cunt has a hard "C", but the "P" is soft and huggable...
Derailing here. Bye!
And yeah, sex is kind of the weirdest thing ever if you think about it too long, but also amazing ;u;
better looking, he's also very real, because the lion's share of him is
me IRL. And I've yet to write a story that is pure, gratuitous sex,
because I'm far more interested in the characters' personal relationships,
that I am in the hot, sweaty sex. The latter does happen in my stories,
it's just that I try my best to build things up, so that it flows naturally,
rather than just writing the short story equivalent of a porn movie.
And you've brought up another point that's always bothered me. I've
never written a straight sex scene, in part because I've never found
a term for female genitalia that doesn't come across as insulting in
one way or another. So I've had to perpetually shelve some very
good story ideas. And that just leaves me feeling down, because
my one good talent, is bringing stories to life.
I know how you feel Kitten and if you don't mind me extending the olive branch a step further, pun intended, can I recommend FetLife? [Yes Erika mentioned it in her comic, but I've been a member on there for over three years now and I've made many friends from it. Send me a PM for my screen name if you'd like to add me on there.]
It probably doesn't help matters that as a culture, we're not too far off from the era where people 'believed' that women didn't even have sexual thoughts, so no vocabulary existed to properly define it... Or it was always considered dirty and/or immoral. And, like it or not, many attitudes towards sex still focus on concepts such as Power and Control (and not the mmrmmmy play-stuff). So, sex is more a insert-rod-into-hole-repeat affair, rather than the true intimacy it should be.
So, yes, I think we've got a long way to go still to change and mold our vocabulary into something more sensual and acceptable.
Every time I see a nice, not overly fetisized picture of straight sex, people ALWAYS have to have something to say about the lack of anal or the lack of another man or some other bullshit negative comment directed at straight sex or at the female in general. It's god damn sad considering all the bullshit people in the LGBT community have to go through just to be accepted or not be looked down on, to have those same oppressed turn around and condemn someone else. So sad and I see it ALL. THE. TIME. It's like being straight is a bad and digusting thing around here and that makes me sad.
I have never said this to anyone, but for a very long time any depictions of gay sex made me feel jealous in a way. It still does, honestly, to an extent. I like it, but to me, it's showing me a life that I feel like wasn't able to be offered to me. Being born physically female, but identifying as a gay male, there were many times were my masculinity wasn't...enough and my sexuality was questioned or I was thought of less because of my anatomy. Even more so when people learn I have no immediate plans to have surgery to alter that part of my body. As much as I wish and dream about having something else there, I still don't have one and still have to live with the anatomy I was born with. I WANT to have pride in my body as I'm starting to accept myself and lord knows how much I love myself despite it, but that love gets smaller and smaller every time someone goes 'ew vagina' or insults it. I wish i didn't take it so personally, but there's always that part of me that screams "I don't want, nor did I ask for it, you don't have to insult me for it".
I'm also tired of people using it to define my sexuality. I identify as male and therefore that would mean any relationship I have with another male would be a gay one if you wanted to toss labels on it (and I personally am not someone who minds labels). But nope, vagine. Means I'm straight. Means I HAVE to use that as my sexuality because any guy would be having to deal with a vagina (nevermind if I use it or not). Which would make me a girl. -.-
It's like if you have any part of you that screams feminine in any way, then all hell breaks loose. I'm defined by it and for me it's something I have had to learn to live with, not something I was born with and just accepted and loved from the get go. So it's very hard to feel comfortable with myself when the one thing I don't want to be defined by is exactly the thing everyone uses.
Sorry I ranted too...n.n; I just love your journal. I am guilty of using the word cunt, but I also use dick bag. I never really thought about it in that way, but I can see why. I also remember someone getting upset at me for using the word 'cunt' as an insult and implied I was unable to use it because it was sexist, but said ZERO about me using the word 'dick' as one, and keeeept calling me 'dick' and 'douche' so I'm like "...whut". Then when i tried to point out the flaw in their logic she gave me that "u mad" bull you get sometimes.
I also dont know why chicks are so senstivite to name calling, men usually endure it better because they get name called more often, so females are sexually protected that way because they are "fragile" or "girly". But i dont like to be associated with that because its degrading to protect me from name calling because im physically female, makes me wish i looked stronger. Remember this, under a weak and fragile looking flower can always have strong roots. Do not underestimate the female sex as weak plox people
So not only was I not allowed to make fun of her friend who attacked me and had her friends attack me, I wasn't allowed to use the term 'cunt' while she proceeded to call me every other sexist insult in the book.
Picard always has the most fitting expressions
It actually helped when my ex-girlfriend and my female friends were supportive and none of them seemed to look at me any differently for allowing myself to just be happy and not force anything.
like
"man, that bloke is a top cunt."
Being Australian i can tell you for certain that while, yes, some people do call their friends cunts, it isn't very common. Least not where I'm from it aint.
(Also i probably should have checked to see if you were an Aussie as well before typing what i did. Sorry.)
i hope the more realistic stuff picks up more steam. It be a nice change
It doesn't help when one of them is pretty much me, gap toothed and imperfect and all. Nobody likes imperfect characters anyway. XD
But fantasy porn is fantasy, still has its downsides if your mindset is unrealistic while applying inrl. Dont forget protection everyone! Thats for you all guys and galls.
My mom acts completely ashamed and shushes anyone in the upside that mentions any kind of female genitalia. I didn't even get the sex/puberty talk from her, she just subtley gave me a puberty book (the period book, I think it was called).
I was ashamed for the longest time too, and then it eventually turned into "WELP, IT'S NOT GOING AWAY ANYTIME SOON SO I MIGHT AS WELL GET OVER IT."
I've discovered (through stories told to me) that those that worry and want to have perfect sex have really sucky sex lives. My boyfriend and I always end up in giggle fits because of our size difference (not genital wise), because he's got a good 200 lbs on me, and he's tall and I'm short, and sometimes we just can't figure out what we're doing. XD I do love the one's that get grossed out by sweat though. Like, what did you think epwas going to happen?
Being a female is an awesome thing, and we need to realize that there's nothing wrong with being feminine.
Thank you so much for restoring a little bit of my faith in humanity
I just think cunt is a fun word along with twat. Blame British youtubers. :P
STATELY SCEPTER
hahaha
Also I agree. We make everything AS SEXY AS POSSIBLE OK IF IT'S NOT LIKE SO MUCH CUM AND SO MUCH STRETCHING AND A DICK AS BIG AS YOUR TORSO THEN YOU'RE NOT DOING IT RIGHT.
It could just be two characters in a relationship holding onto eachother, and being intimate. LOL
Gosh
Somebody finally said it.
Fuck, it makes me want to kick furniture how much a community based around sexuality and kink just so happens to be super prejudiced against sexuality and kink. Sexism, transphobia, homophobia, heterophobia, the idealization of "art" that crosses a line into a legit issue, and the fact its all supported by one huge patriarchal circle jerk, like every-fucking-thing else.
I don't care about some white cis man, gay or not, coming on here and playing devil's advocate on this comment 'cause I'm not reading it.
In short, fucking amen. You rock <3
</yahoo answers style citation>
I agree wholly on the sexuality thing. I'm in it for the romance and the connection and the warmth of another's body, not over-the-top jizz explosions.
As far as sex goes, eeeh... I have to agree that the best sex is sex with somebody you care about, and whether they're supermodel-gorgeous or normal stature, the intimate feeling of it being really personal between you and the person you care for makes it way better. But I also think that sex in and of itself is fun, too--intimacy with a loved one makes it even more fantastic, sure, but sex is still pretty fun even without intimacy.
I think what's important is just to have fun. If you're single, or if you don't want to be in a serious, dedicated relationship, then a fling or something is fun. Sex in general is fun. But if you find somebody special, then all the more power to you, y'know? It means it's even better. Simply, I think we should just enjoy sex when/if we can get it, and really treasure it when we can have it with those we love dearly.
I agree wholeheartedly about needing a more emotional approach to erotic imagery (specially in this fandom where literally everything is fetishized).
It's common to think having sexuality freedom is limited to fetishizing a broader amount of stuff. This usually happens more on popular artists, or artists whose galleries are filled with commissions. We tend to fetishize large horse cocks, knots, loads of cum, inhumanly large breasts, copious amount of lubrication, etc.
It sells because it offers something beyond our reality that is easy to relate to.
Sex sells because you don't need to "get" it, but sexuality needs to be understood, felt and appreciated. That's why we see so little of it.
Just words.
Also, I love calling people cunts. It's literally one of my favorite words. I'm just as likely to call someone a dick as I am to call them a cunt. I'm sorry. xD
My housemate asked me if vagentlemen had sir-loins :D
You are awesome! Every word you speak is not but truth, I hope that more and more people come to this realization about the world of not only our community but in general.
Go out there and speak freely, and I can not wait to see some of the more natural stuff you create <3
The fandom pushes sexuality hard... Even in non-sexual situations and art, characters are depicted in very idealistic ways... And like some people above have mentioned, this mere idealistic presentation of the characters we try to identify and project ourselves onto... Well, it causes a LOT of distress, for some people. I'm sure it can happen for all sorts of people of all sexes, genders, and sexual orientations, but in some cases, it gets flat out more unrealistic than in others. For example, in my own case, as one whom identifies as a femboy, seeing all the highly idealized art of totally-unrealistically-effeminately-built characters sets a standard that really isn't fair for any femboy IRL, and even gives IRL biological females a run for their money, too boot. For that reason alone, it was for two years that I had to set the idea on the back-burner (occasionally stirring up said metaphorical pot) before I told myself it was even a feasible thing. And I'll be honest... Those standards have caused me to be more than a bit of a dick to some people... To them, I apologize sincerely.
And, of course, even now, I often have doubts of my capability to pull it off, despite knowing very strongly that this is definitely what feels right, and I do think it is part of the highly idealized nature of the art that is to be found. There are, as always, rare exceptions to this rule, but often, even then, those characters are given an idealized body, even if not curvaceous and slim beyond any real-life comparison.
I mean, I can only truly speak for myself, but I'm more than certain that other folks of all descriptions must have similar reactions in response to this high degree of idealization we find in nearly every aspect of the fandom.
So, uhm... Yeah. There's my rant, anyone whom got this far, thank you very much for your time and energy. ^^
(I will say, as an American I'm a big fan of Jimmy Carr and his casual use of 'cunt', and kinda wish non-Brits could be equally casual as it's an elegant word, but I do know how explosive the word is in the US, on par with the N-word)
Regarding the first half, painfully true I must admit, and I've fallen prey to this long ago. I'm not a no-fap purist (quit the opposite unfortunately) but there is a kernel of truth to their contention that heavy consumption of porn distorts your perspective on IRL sexuality, and this is no less true in furry fantasy. I don't know if I EVER saw much "realism" in this community, nor did I expect to. Produced "real" porn idealizes the best of what we want to see within the limits of human capability. Once you remove those restraints, in the furry/drawn realm, the imagination is the limit and that is an endless resource. Infinite ideas that would never be physically possible (unbirth/vore, cumflation, torture with regeneration, the classic "who needs internal organs" x-ray shots, etc) are all entertained in our heads. I've grown accustomed to myriad fantasies thad I either could not or would not try IRL. Still a virgin, I've been that sort of "not interested" person long before I found the furry world but I've also always hoped to change that, and I feel like my involvement here blocks the impetus to TRY to change that.
Just some random rambling musings, thanks for sharing and getting us thinking too...
twat
And yes: For all the "hot fucks" in the world, there is nothing, NOTHING, to compare with the feeling of waking up snuggled in the arms of someone you love... after you both hat a hot fuck the night before
Let me say, state, that the reality is it has nothing to do with the furry community, atleast, well...
The affairs in today's world are hyperfocused on sexuality. All of them. All it takes is 20 minutes around the scum of the earth (read: 70% of the male population) and you'll find out all anyone on a base level thinks about is when they're going to fuck their next bitch, smoke their next blunt, or dodge their next baby's momma looking for child support. The top 1% treat sex like yet another status symbol. It use to be, back in the day, if a man had a mistress, or two, or five, he kept that under his hat and away from the poker table. Now, a man of wealth is expected to display is 'trophies' and talk about it whenever he gets the chance. (and not just the cultures that have kept harems for over 2000 years) Above all, marriages are nose-diving, as everyone expects to 'get lucky' within the first week, where as before you could date a person for six months and not see them naked. I get bagged on for being in a single relationship for 13 years when I mention it amongst my blue collar coworkers, like I'm some kind of freak, or mental retard. The idea of a relationship is foreign not just in furry culture, but in today's society in general. Furries, having been rooted in a sort of off-shoot of fetish garb are basically just a sharpened end to this long, looooong stick of sex-focus/connection-deprivation decline. They're reflective of the state of society, an that reflective bent just magnifies the underlying faults. ... but that's just my read on the facts. It's not to say some furries are un-singleminded in their plumbing of the depths of depravity. I just don't really think they're doing anything too out of the norm for the rest of the fleshies. They just have that certain tinge to them.
As far as the sacred triangle, I think you have to go 'flowery' if you want to re-allocate terms for it. 'Mons' happens to be one of my favorite, referring to the mons pubis, which is actually the area of the groin upon which the labia splits, and where pubic hair sits, so it's actually in-congruent with actual anatomy, but I take liberties with my writer's license on that one. It just sounds good. 'Nethers' is another one, 'inner walls' (the actual vagina in itself), or 'slit' if I'm feeling quick and dirty. I also secretly like the phrase 'camel toe' because it elicits such wonderful imagery and is wildly imaginative. 'Snatch' is one I did not see get brought up... but, like the rest of the words you mentioned are cast in a negative light, snatch is hard and harsh on the tongue. And I think that's kinda the point. A shaft, a spire, a masculine tower, a dick is a sharp, protruding object. It's an object that makes itself known. It brings about its own existence. That's why I think it weathers harsh names like cock, jizz cannon, pussy plunger, etc. The V, on the other hand is soft. It's mysterious. It's usually hidden, and you have to go searching for it. It doesn't typically come to you. (well, today, as I stated above, it kinda does) You have to entice it. It's not weak, no (I actually find the word 'mons' a strong word, but not 'hard') but you need a gentle tongue (HA Ha, double entendre) to speak to it, or of it. I suppose I could rattle off a few more, if you're looking for more palatable phrasings.
Finally, this makes me think of projection: perhaps you feel oppressed in the heavily sexual atmosphere of a porn board (or perhaps you addressed all of furrydom). Hey: I understand. While FA offers a space for sex, a steady diet would itself become a straitjacket, a burden that enervates desire. Taking a break or shifting your focus would help. Or you could make your own positive, OJST-like comic; that would be great. I would love to see it.
Interesting thing. I'm not involved alot into the furry community, outside of the arts and RP parts - and those are mostly about going sweaty and big.
So I can't say much about it - but yeah here and there I see a simple, cute picture, and I'm all "dawww, cute". Maybe it's because most people in the furry community are just more "friend with benefits" style of people? Or they don't want to show or display such things in public (DRAMAAAAAAAA!!).
As for the words parts... it's cultural.
Here in France, I never heard any equivalent of "cunt" as an insult. There is insulting word for being a women however. But being called a dick is insulting, too.
And for fancy words for the female sex, I can think of some you may try to introduce?
- The secret garden
- Tierra del Fuego
- bomboniere
- bearded (this one is falling out of use, strangely :D )
- playroom
- raminagrobis (a name at least 400 years old for... heh, cats. And a Rabelais character as well)
- rose
- pearl
I guess you just gonna be poetic and let your imagination give cutes names. People should be able to take a hint.
