FA: United 3 is just around the corner! And by "just around the corner" I mean well over a year away! After a long, arduous discussion involving much alcohol, youtubing and partying, our scientists staffers have written our convention dates in finest of ball point pen:
May 21st to 23rd.
Yes, we've moving from the incredibly hot month of August to the slightly hot, but not-quite-as-hot-month of May. Due to economic reasons, we had to pick a month with less letters in the title as it saved on ink. But rest assured, the money saved will go to improve FAU3 tenfold!

And coming sooner than FAU 3... FAU 2.5! That's right. It's not a con, it's not a party, and in fact, we're not entirely sure what it will be just yet, but there will be DJs, dancing, fursuiting events, alcohol and much partying.

Stop making me choose between cons!
Hence FAU 2.5. We're still hosting an event, but it's going to be a weekend party/cook out with music, booze and more. Something fun for people to come down and hang out with. Not a mere furmeet, but not a convention.
From what I've heard from some other con guys... lots of other furcons are feeling the bite. The big dogs don't have much to worry about, but the lil' guys do.

The problem comes down to it that if you try to place yourself apart from every other con you're still going to bump into problems.
May has other conventions, but they're further away distance-wise, meaning local folks are more likely to be around.
It's like the old saying: you can please some of the people all of the time, and you can fool, uh... fool me... well, we won't be fooled again.
As for FAU:2.5, beginning of august? As i'm travelling for the first time to US to attend AC then to stay in california for a while, maybe i could also attend this one!
