Ask Me Anything!

Seen a few of these floating around. Haven't done anything Meme-y in while.
So, pretty simple, ask me anything and I'll answer it. For those of you that chat with me off-site, you know I'm a pretty open book anyway.
And as a bonus question for all of you: What's everyone doing for Halloween?

If you had the opportunity, which book or story would you most like to illustrate? :3
It's impressive when film makers will take imagery direct from the source material. First example that comes to mind, is of course Watchmen, where multiple scenes were constructed just as if the comic panels were the film's story board. To do it the other way around though, always strikes me as a larger challenge still. I just recently finished reading Transformers: Autocracy, and there's a few pages taken directly from the original 80's movie. As I was going panel to panel, my initial thought was 'I've SEEN this before,' and one might assume it would feel stagnant. I found myself though, jumping from panel to panel feeling like it was fresh and new, while still paying tribute to a source material.
That doesn't really answer your question. It was just an interesting anecdote as it related to something I so recently read.
Anyway, for me, I love songs that in 3-4 minutes can tell a story even if there's no definite cast of characters or a beginning, middle and end, in the strictest sense. Often, the lyrics may paint a picture in your head of an excerpt of any one of those three things, and we, the listener, with our imagination fill in the rest. Bohemian Rhapsody is the first example that comes to mind that takes us on a lyrical trip of a boy who killed a man and his mental anguish and the societal dilemma of whether or not to show him mercy. We might wonder as we listen, how good of a relationship he really has with his mother? At the end, DOES nothing really matter to the young man anymore? Is it even relevant, as he may or may not be executed?
Hotel California, of course another great example, I could go into detail about. But you get the idea.
For me, I'd love to do, even like a short comic (10 pages or so), of songs like "Lead Sail (And a Paper Anchor)" by Atreyu, or "Early Sunset Over Monroeville" by MCR, or even "Pet" by APC.
Hope that answers your question, heh.
Hmm... do you have any regular comic gigs or projects, or is it just commissions work as it comes in?
While I worked in the medical field, I pretty much only took commissions during Christmas time. All the nurses and techs, etc wanted a pic of Spiderman or Batman for their kid, and I could produce original art, on the cheap. So, for a month or so out of the year, you could consider that regular work. There was also a tech that I was his personal tattoo designer. I basically designed a good chunk of his sleeve (No, didn't take any pics. Sorry).
THESE days, as of now, no, nothing regular. However, I am presently working with a dude on turning a book he wrote into a comic. I couldn't say how regular of a gig it will be. But he's a cool guy, and a dream customer to work with, really. So, we'll see.
If we're talking about a movie that, the last movie to legitimately give me chills, I'd have to say House on Haunted Hill (the remake). However, the ending kinda' left me disappointed. Such is the case with so many horror films though, y'know? So few know how to properly close.
I really liked The Ring (Again, remake. Never saw Ringu). It wasn't particularly scary. But it did an amazing job of creating this world, this uncanny illusion that you'd buy watching a vhs would kill you. The entire mood of the film was intoxicating, and always puts a smile on my face.
Silent Hill, in all respects, I love. Again, an entire world is created of horror, dread and righteous damnation. The films (Yeah, even the second. Sorry, I'm a sucker for the SH monsters), create an experience that's fun to visit.
THAT said, I HAVE to go with, for my FAVORITE scary movie, a film I have, on numerous occasions put on in the background to repeat for an entire day, is the remade Evil Dead. I could go on and on about this movie. How fresh and new it was, while still paying tribute to the BEST parts of the original. How truly epic multiple scenes were throughout this terror-laden romp in the woods. Amazing, and a little pleasantly surprising, character development achieved. Blood, chills, invasive plant-life... groovy.
And the question. Lt. arise you feeling stardartizitsii life, human behavior, imposing conformity in behavior, desires and life goals?
And as for the second question, I don't find myself, ever, struggling with uniformity, or conformity. In fact, whether I lived back home in the US or here now in Germany, I find my facial hair and simple-enough, though amusing, graphic Ts have always made those give me a stare or two. I don't mind it, nor do I thrive on it, by any means. I just live my life for my own comfort, both in what I wear, and in my own skin. I think in this day and age, with it being impossible to please everyone, a pursuit in uniformity is an exercise in self-deprecation.
Way to get deep with the question asking, heh.
