Fursona History: Keyote

This is my journal on Keyote.
As of April 3rd 2015 Keyote is officially retired as a fursona.
Keyote first started out with his name and his name alone. Despite his name looking like 'coyote' his name is phonetically pronounced key-o-tay. I first drew inspiration for his name from the Don Quixote books but instead of using Quixote I used Keyote because I found it fitting with him being half coyote.
The Keyote you see today came into being during the time I left the brony fandom. After I had enough of the pony bullies I fancied a playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas. I did this and imagine that instead of the NCR vs. Caesar's Legion I imagined it was Furry vs. Brony and the bronies took the Legion's role (and it fit especially nice since the soldiers on mlp already dress like roman soldiers and also Commander Hurricane and the ancient pegusai). And Mr. House/Independent Vegas were like impartial factions but I was so angry at the time, I pushed the bronies out of Hoover Dam and launched nukes at them in the Lonesome Road dlc. I know it sounds silly now but at the time it was how I vented my frustration.
What I'm getting at with all this New Vegas talk is that the character I played as ultimately became my basis for Keyote. My character was a bit of a rogue/likeable scoundrel that had a way of getting into and out of trouble. I gave him a back story saying that his wife and him were soldiers in the first battle of Hoover Dam (Or Hoofer Dam while the bronies controlled it), but I digress. In the first battle his wife was killed and it scarred him to see her killed. After the first battle he was discharged and deemed unfit for service, he also developed PSTD but that's his secret.
Even his physicality came from Fallout: New Vegas. Once I had his story done I still had to make him after an animal. I always liked foxes ,which is kind of a staple for being a furry, and that was when I fought some coyotes out in the Mojave Wastes when it dawned on me. I never had a canine fursona, so I decided to make a hybrid of a fox and a coyote Keyote's mom was the coyote and his dad was the fox.
That's pretty much all to say about Keyote other than I might tweak his personality a bit in my stories but maybe I'll write a story based around the real Keyote one day. The next journal will be about my sergal fursona: Adamska :D
