Here's a fun question for you? Have you ever discussed your artistic abilities with your advisor, or one of your professors? It would be very interesting to hear what their take on your unique, artistic abilities is. Especially since, as you point out, you just seem to have a nack for appealing to the human experience via your vibrant pieces.

Ehehe, oh no, I haven't. 8D My art teachers have seen some of my work, though it's not exactly like what I post here. :B Last semesters I showed two of my professors my sketch for the "Together Again" collage I posted last month, to show them I had lots of different ideas I wanted to use for our projects, so they allowed me to kind of break free from the ideas they wanted the students to do so I could work on my own, but I guess that's about it. 8D

Awesome! It's always a vote of confidence when experts in your field of study recognize you for your innate talents and allow you to blend your own special brand of creativity into an assignment.

The reason I bring it up is that, as I went about my MBA, I started to kind of "branch" into my own styles when writing papers and doing presentations. I had one professor in particular who was really impressed by my unique take and ability. It was thanks to her that I actually felt I had a place in my field of study despite my eventual loathing of the Business World as a whole.

On that note, do you have any professors that seem to really appreciate you for your own particular brand of art? Any that have taken the time to talk about your special way of touching on the human experience through your work? The way you get to learn about people through your work is rather unique and it would be neat to know if there were any special places that they could see you going with it.

Hehe, no matter what we do, our personality can usually end up showing through! :3 It's no wonder it took effect in writing and presentations too, and it's great that your teachers like it as well! Even if it's not something you totally fancy now, it's good you still could make it work. (:

I don't think I have a habit of getting too personal with professors. :B Some of mine have really encouraged me, but the one that encouraged me the most wasn't even one I had in class! She just usually passed me by in school and saw the collages I drew in my notebook. She gave me a sketch book and colored pencils, and some things from her son, since he was a cartoonist/animator. (: She really encouraged me to get into art when I was unsure! Hehehe.

That's really awesome, Oxnard! That encounter in itself is perhaps the most meaningful one you could ask for. Someone who doesn't even have you directly that is affluent in the arts seeing the special nuances that set your work apart from the rest.

In my case, I had two unique influences. The first was my creative writing teacher in my undergraduate program. He asked me to meet him outside of class after reading "The Sliding Board" in its first rendition. He told me, "...Work like this is usually done with teams of writers for how workable it is..." After he told me that, I actually got the confidence to sit down and write the two manuscripts for my PRIMARY series along with most of my "Tales" sub-series.

My second comes from my Marketing professor in my graduate. I was alienated right off the get go upon starting as I was so young and, honestly, the only people my age were international students. However, she saw something in me and, through talking, I shared with her tales like "Oh, Happy Day" and she loved every one of them. Her confidence in my ability to work with people, in addition to this, is what made me desire a position in Human Resources, or writing. Both of which, as you know, I'm striving for.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that, quite honestly, I feel you do have something unique. Something far different than many of the other artists I've encountered over the years. It's for this reason I was curious if any of your professors have taken much note of your special nack in the field and, perhaps, given you some positive guidance. I honestly see you going far with it one day.

Hehe, it's important to have someone that believes in you or your work like that. (: It must have been awesome knowing someone felt like your work was as good as a lot of people working together! (: Part of being an artist or writer is hoping the things you express can reach someone! So if someone you're supposed to know professionally takes their time to look at it or feel inspired or whatever, it's good times for sure! :3

And I don't exactly know what to say in response to what ya mentioned of me! But thank you, a lot! :3

No worries about saying anything, Oxnard. Just keep doing what you do best and I'll be here enjoying the wonderful inspiration I get from it as I'm sure many of your other friends do, too. :)

No one reads anything, so I have to repeat myself again and again. ;O;

I wanted this piece to be PG, so that more people could see it, and while I considered guro and a lot of the other fetishes people told me I forgot, I did not want to include any graphic fetishes.
Also, even if it was graphic, everyone would have complained about something not being there, instead of accepting that with all the likes in there, the task of capturing every single one (or the ones people thought were important) was impossible.
