ʙꜱᴋʏ | ᴇᴍᴀɪʟ | ᴋᴏ-ғɪ So as many as you may know, I was in a pretty serious car accident on Friday night. I broke my sternum and have major bruising to my body, so much so the doctors though I ruptured my internals from the impact. I'm in a pretty decent amount of pain and on pain killers, I can manage to walk around which is definitely a good thing. Share is doing well and walked away with some bruising to his body. Needless to say, the truck is absolutely gone. I need to make it a point that our seat belts saved our LIVES and without them we would definitely been dead, PLEASE NEVER drive in a car without being buckled in. Even at 30 miles an hour, a head on collision without a seat belt can kill you, and now that I was in an accident at this magnitude, I realize how absolutely important they are when driving. This was a near death experience for me and I'm still really shook up by it all, and I feel like my life has changed dramatically since.
But all that being said, we are looking at some pretty serious medical bills, and I am physically unable to draw for at least a week to two weeks (I just tried doodling this morning and the stress on my upper body from trying to draw was insane), and we are without a legal car (mine is no longer registered and would need to be able to smog to get that done, which would cost me a few thousand, its a non operating car right now). We are looking for any help at all and started a GoFundMe for everything. Thank you so much for being so nice and supportive, and anything helps to get us back on our feet. I was in a multiple vehicle accident where my van was obliterated but I was fortunate enough to walk away also and that was at 45mph with a HGV hitting me into another vehicle.
Take it easy. Take your time. You need to heal which is top priority.

Take it easy, don't force yourself to draw or do too much of anything as you recover - it'll take a while, but it'll happen. *hugs (carefully)* :)

I'm absolutely going to donate, hands-down, no question about it. Why? Because I nearly lost the artist responsible for bringing my own OC to life...
Man, life itself is so terribly fragile... it can thrive one minute, then be snuffed out quicker than a finger-snapping the next.
Here's to a speedy recovery and good spirits, even among a multitude of pain. I'll be sure to share this journal as well. ;)

Please do not comment on my workload when you're unaware of my schedule and how I have stopped taking larger commissions in order to get those done. But thank you for your concern for my recovery.
If you're at fault I take it your not covered medically?

Jesus christ, you got off lucky if you only have body bruises and a broken sternum.
I hope you can recover quickly from this. Can't imagine how startling that was.
Please, please, please get medical insurance. You never know when something like this could happen again. I'm very athletic and healthy, but I was hospitalized for a couple months because of a random problem with my stomach. If I didn't have insurance, I'd easily be bankrupted.
Open enrollment for medical insurance through healthcare.gov is going on now. You should look into it as soon as you can.
When I heard about your accident the day it happened I was in shock but relieved to hear that you will be ok.
