Fursonae made primarily to yiff are usually generic and boring too, at least most I have seen.

Rainbows and Ravers... 9/10 times either of those as traits means the fursona will be hyper generic.

Another one is anemic skinny, adonis, or body builder on guys. Most fursonae with one of these traits is pretty generic, more then half of people who chose these are generally trying to live out being a lusted after sex object and chose other traits based on general accepted opinions of attractiveness. And well more then half the time their rral life body types are vastly different then their fursona's.

Being naked all the time or in a Matrix/Columbine coat: most people who chose these traits are out to either be seen as desirerous sex objects or as strong and cool. They are chosing to not be imaginative, but instead to go for a trope. They also tend to go for other common and unimaginative tropes.

More a focus on a back story or on fur markings then other personality or other design features: usually someone focuses on those two in a conscious attempt to make up for the character lacking in other areas. Usually the fur markings or backstory are so complex with so mich minutiae that the details blend together and you end up with muddled details that are hard to notice; and thus a more generic character then if it didn't have those details. Common details include pawprint spots, rainbow markings (see above), and copied details of anime characters/religious symbols/icons from other comics; and in backstory, abusive families or deaths in the family/missing family memeber for which they are searching. I believe this last is in relation their families not approving of the said furries sexual appetites, thus they feel outcast by their family, usually male homosexuality and polyamority; once in a while you get bestiality, but this is rare.

Well, that's my list of things that are linked with generic fursonae. Anyone agree with these?
