Su cuy'gar ner vode!
File this away under "getting to know you" stuff.
- When did you start drawing?
As literally a toddler. My aunt has a picture on her wall, faded after all these years, of the whole cast of Wizard of Oz. I was five.
- Which hand do you use for drawing?
I'm right-hand-dominant. However I have to hold my work in the left hand or I shake.
- Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Males. Hard angles are easier for me than soft curves. Plus...guy bits.
- Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Long hair. Short fur doesn't count as short hair.
- Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Neither. Whichever feels right at the time.
- Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Anything that feels right for the picture.
- What do you have problems in drawing?
Uhm...everything? What DON'T I have problems with is a shorter answer. I do decent canines, equines, cervines...everything else is passable I guess. Sometimes.
- What do you like to draw?
Whatever I want to draw in the moment. It fluctuates. Some days I only wanna draw horses...other days, I just want to draw kittens...some days all I can stand to draw are bleached bones. It's a mood thang.
- Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I flip-flop back and forth. This week, digital. Two weeks ago, traditional. Five months before that, digital. It's a fluctuating preference.
- Where do you start drawing from?
Depends on what I'm drawing. I do start a lot of drawings at the center of gravity, or thereabouts...but I also sometimes start at the head and move down...or the legs and move up...it really changes depending on what I'm drawing. (Noticing a theme here?)
- What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I dunno.
- Any tips for coloring/shading?
LMAO I wish.
- How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
Sometimes, less than an hour. Other times, days. It all depends on what I'm drawing, how I feel, what I've eaten, if the TV is on, if my cat is pestering me for pet, the position of the sun, the phase of the moon, the flavor of pop I'm drinking...everything in the universe can change a timeframe.
- What music do you listen to while you draw?
I don't, any more. I often crank up re-runs of TV shows I like in the background for background noise. I'm fond of Supernatural, Walking Dead, Blue Bloods, and Jericho for background shows.
- How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Depends. How many dreams do monarch butterflies have each night? If you answered "hell if I know" you are approaching correct. Sometimes an idea hits immediately...other times, I agonize over it for days to get a spark of creativity.
- Your favorite drawing utensils?
I love fluid inks...I love watercolors...I love colored pencils. Just right now I can't stand touching them so I'm all about digital this week. This too shall pass.
- Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
I love purples, blues, and greens.
- Your favorite style(s)?
Uhm, I don't know?
- Are you satisfied with your current art?
Not at all, but it is what it is.
- What kind of artist are you aiming for?
To be myself.
