Rhode Island Furbowl 34 will be held on Saturday, January 3 at 7 p.m. at East Providence Lanes at 80 Newport Avenue, East Providence, RI. (MAP IS HERE)
The cost for bowling is $10 per person. I will collect your money and use it to pay the staff. If you are using a debit card to pay, please bring that to my attention so we can handle that at the front desk later in the night. If you wish to use PayPal, please contact me before January 3 so that I can follow up and make arrangements.
Several things need to be addressed based on stuff that happened at the last furbowl:
While this situation was an accident and the person who was involved admitted that it was an absent-minded mistake on his part and it was corrected right away with the alley's manager, it bares noting the obvious: Do not smuggle any alcohol, drugs or weapons into any event (not just the bowling alley) whether on yourself or inside your fursuit cases. There are obviously legal reasons why, and I won't get into them right now.
As with any large group of varying personalities, I'm getting the feeling that some people may be starting to carry their online animosity of others into the real world. If you attend any event and you are not comfortable with another person being there, please let me know ASAP. We'll see if something can be worked out, or else, someone may have to leave in order to avoid a conflict. It's obviously a tricky situation in any case, but it must be resolved quickly so it doesn't get out of hand.
Along with that, any physical violence is grounds for being banned from the group. There are varying degrees of physical contact from inappropriate touching all the way to legally-defined assault. There is usually a police officer who patrols the alley every weekend. I don't want things between people to get out of hand to the point where he has to get involved, which could easily lead to us never having a furbowl ever again.
Also, when you're at any restaurant, do not throw paper airplanes, rolled-up straw wrappers, crumpled placemats, food or anything! The waitstaff does see this, and they will think less of us as a group. Those types of actions could get us kicked out of restaurants. You are all (mostly) adults, and I'd hope that you'd all have enough maturity by now to know this.
Rant over.
The group photo will be at 9:00.
For the post-furbowl meet, we are heading to IHOP in Attleboro. The address is 383 Washington St, Attleboro, MA. A map and directions are here: https://goo.gl/maps/tjucr
The next furbowl (#35) will be held on January 31.

Code of Conduct: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3321444/ Please be on your best behavior and use common sense. There will be families and children present. Please be courteous to the other guests of the alley. You are representing the Furry Fandom while you are there.
Ears, tails, collars and fursuits are welcome. A room will be provided as changing space and a break area for fursuiters. Please be aware that this is taking place at the same time as Cosmic Bowling when the lights are dimmed and loud music is being played.
There is a bar at the alley and all standard Rhode Island alcohol consumption laws are in effect. Underage drinking is not allowed and do not buy drinks for those who are underage. If you do drink, please do so in moderation.
Please RSVP on this journal or contact me,
CirrusSkyDragon. Let me know whether or not you and your friends are coming and if you will be bowling and/or fursuiting.

And the IHOP idea sounds great, considering that now you guys are right in my back yard (in a sense).
With proper transportation provided, I should be able to make it.
I'll go if i can- also- Christmas money gifts will be going partially toward that flag.
It's glad to have you as a new member of the furry fandom. Just remember that a fursuit (or even a fursona) is not a requirement to be a furry. Generally, only one out of five people will have a costume of some sort. There are tons of websites, videos and message boards you can look at to "study up" on furries. I did so for two years before I decided to join the fandom.
Stay in touch and keep an eye on FA, our Facebook page and our Twitter account. We also have a Skype group.
