This is just for all YCH auctions going forward. :)
YCH Completed Image
ALL YCH images will be fully colored, fully shaded/detailed with a basic monochromatic background UNLESS specifically otherwise stated in the auction listing.
YCH Completed Image, section II
All auction winners will, upon image completion, be emailed a high resolution/fullsize/working size image of the YCH in addition to the small "Furaffinity sized" image.
Bidding Increments
I actually do not like forcing people to use "minimum bid increments" but I will not accept a bid of less than a single dollar increase. Please use your judgement! :)
Auction Close, Bidding vs. Sniping
Each auction will have a specific closing time. All auction close times will be in Eastern time. The auction will end when the time for it's close arrives OR one hour after the last bid, whichever comes last. Auction winners thus cannot "snipe" auctions.
Bid Retraction
DO NOT DELETE COMMENT-BIDS. If you must retract a bid, please NOTE ME explaining why. 99% of the time I will allow a bid retraction (hey, I know shit happens). HOWEVER, I do keep track of bidding as close as I can, and if I see someone deleting their bids, I WILL IMMEDIATELY BLOCK THAT USER. I will not tolerate this. I know it's happened in the past; I've been unsure how to deal with it til now. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but this is simply how it must be.
Bid Impediments (asking others to stop bidding) are Forbidden
Anyone bidding on my YCHs must refrain from begging or asking others to stop bidding against them. The reason for this is simple: it will make people uncomfortable to continue bidding, and as of this time art is the ONLY source of income I have. Preventing others from bidding due to pleas or guilt tripping is strictly forbidden for this reason. I'm sorry to have to implement this rule, but I must. Anyone caught in violation will have their bid deleted and will be given one warning; further violation of this rule will result in being blocked.
Payment
All payments due in USD. I accept payment only through Paypal at this time. Due to Paypal's rules, I cannot send invoices, so payment is the responsibility of the commissioner.
Status Updates
Please be aware I do NOT offer "status updates" as the artwork progresses. I understand that some artists message the commissioner/auction winner at every step of the way (i.e., "I just got inks done" or "basic color finished, ready to shade") HOWEVER I do not do this. There are reasons I do not do this; primarily, I often work on multiple pieces concurrently and it would be an unnecessary waste of time to stop periodically and send random updates. I have SO LITTLE TIME to work on artwork, I do not want to waste it sending updates. It would add significantly to the time taken to complete the image. I will always alert the commissioner/auction winner upon completion.
Refunds
Once work has begun on your YCH image/slot/et cetera, you cannot receive a full refund. Partial refunds are possible.
* If the sketch has been re-tooled to fit your character, 15% of the winning bid or price is forfeit/withheld to compensate the work.
* If it is inked or in the process of inking, 40% of the winning bid or price is forfeit/withheld to compensate for the work.
* If the process of coloring/shading is complete or partially complete, 75% of the winning bid or price is forfeit/withheld to compensate for the work.
Payment, section II
Winning bids or claiming of an autobuy slot must respond with references and payment no later than three days after the close of the auction. At auction close I will send a note to each winner; the three days period begins when that note is sent. All auctions will have a timeframe listed; it is the responsibility of the commissioner to adhere to this timeframe. If an auction winner does not reply within three days, THAT PERSON SHALL BE BLOCKED. I have a zero-tolerance for this. If you have a life-emergency that prevents you from replying to me, please email me explaining your situation to Kyle.heathertoft[at]gmail.com and I will consider the situation. Winning bids not claimed will be canceled; I will offer the slot to the next highest bidder via a right of first refusal. If the next highest bidder does not claim the slot, the auction will be relisted.
Revisions/WIP approvals
Once bidding has ended, and reference materials are sent, I work "straight through" to completion on YCH images. I do NOT send works-in-progress (hereafter called WIP) shots for approvals or edits. The reason for this is simple and twofold: first, getting WIP approvals and edits takes time, and these YCHs already take such a long time to complete (in terms of hours spent working) that having to wait even longer is frustrating and adds DAYS onto the timeframe; plus I have some health issues that means I can work on art sporadically and only when I feel up to it, and I hate to spend time where I feel well enough to do art waiting to hear back from someone about a WIP. Secondly, I have found that people who want multiple edits to art are rarely satisfied with the end result no matter how much time and effort I spend, and I will not go down that road again. I DO offer edits/WIP shots for standard commissions but for an increased fee.
Revisions Ex Post Facto
I will not make revisions after the image is finished unless I really screwed up, i.e., I forgot a character's markings or something.
References
I do not limit people to one reference image. Feel free to send all the refs you like! :) However, by that token, if the refs are inaccurate, I cannot be held responsible for edits to the finished image unless the inaccuracy is mentioned by the purchaser in the same note or at least before work begins on the image.
References, section II
When sending references, I WILL REPLY to let you know they were received. If you have NOT gotten a reply within 48 hours of sending refs, that means I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEM so please, PLEASE re-send. I WILL NOT HOUND YOU FOR REFS. This responsibility lies solely on the auction winner. If necessary, in the event I do not receive references within a timely manner, I will replace your slot with someone else and refund you for the slot if you have already paid.
Image Location
I do NOT delete or remove the original YCH sketch. However, upon completion of the YCH, the original posted sketch will be moved to my "scraps" section.
Patreon Members and YCH Images
Patreon members supporting me (Rrhexis Dogsoul) will have the option to view fullsize/working size/high resolution images of YCH auction results/completed YCHs. They WILL NOT have permission to alter, copy, or redistribute. (this goes into effect April 15th, 2015; it will not affect past YCH auctions ex post facto.)
Refusals
If I do not think a character is a good fit for the image, I reserve the right to reject the character, cancel bids, and relist the YCH auction anew. This has NEVER been an issue thus far (and I've been pretty pleased and excited to draw all these cool characters!) but I want to state it here and now if it ever IS an issue. :)
More stuff may be added as I think of it or as it becomes necessary. :)
