Commission Information

Commission Status: OPEN
Well, since it's come up, I figure I should put down some commission ground rules - so both of us know what we're getting into
Basics:
Commissions will be taken on a very limited basis. I have a family, a young child, and personal projects and pursuits to attend to. I also want to ensure I don't get in over my head, so plushes get turned out in a timely manner and I don't end up sacrificing too much sleep to the sewing Gods.
Expect a turnaround time of around 6-8 weeks from when your first payment clears. This may be extended for extenuating circumstances, and you will be notified if something comes up. I cannot guarantee any exact completion dates.
What will I make? Things I've made before. See it in my submissions? You can commission it. Anything else? No. See {family} above. I simply can't dedicate the time to pattern out new plushies, unfortunately.
I have an embroidery machine and some details can be embroidered. This will be discussed during the commissioning process.
All plushes are created in a smoke-free, but pet-friendly home, however, I work hard to ensure they ship clean and free of pet hair.
Any commission can be canceled by me at any time as a last resort, should an issue fail to be resolved. Up to 50% of the total cost can be refunded in such a case. I hope to never have to wield this power, but I'm covering my butt just in case!
Pricing:
25% non-refundable down-payment is due at the time of commissioning and before I will begin any work.
Prices do not include shipping. Shipping costs will be calculated on an individual basis and invoiced before the plush is shipped.
All prices are in USD.
Price quotes will be valid for 90 days from date of quote.
Please note me on DeviantArt, email me (fairytaleacrestoys AT gmail DOT com), or message me on Facebook (Fairy Tale Acres on Facebook) for a price quote. I will not discuss pricing on submissions/in comments/on journals.
Payment
At this time, I can only accept PayPal payments.
You will be invoiced for each of your payments. Payment is due within 48 hours of invoice, else the commission will be considered abandoned and I will reopen the commission slot.
Payment plans are available on a limited basis.
Plushies must be paid, in full, before I will ship them. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Plushies must be paid off, in full, within 2 weeks of their completion OR 8 weeks after your first invoice, whichever is later.
Shipping
Shipping costs are not included in the price quote and will be calculated and invoiced on a case-by-case basis.
I can only ship to the USA right now. Other options may be available in the future.
Insurance is required and will be included in the shipping price.
I will ship via the least expensive method - USPS, UPS, or FedEx - unless you have a specific request for one of the three carriers.
I ship items one day per week, usually Monday or Tuesday.

As a business owner of 3 small businesses, I HIGHLY recommend you just raise the shipping costs on each package and make sure insurance isn't a "request" but a secure and for sure thing!
I just had a major mess-up with someone I commissioned who refused to do anything about a Christmas gift I commissioned and it had gotten stolen in the mail.
PayPal also has laws to protect buyers in cases like that, too. So i you're using PayPal as a form of payment, DEFIANTLY make sure you put insurance on your packages!
PayPal has halted accounts of small artists and sellers for goof-ups like this! Just watchin' your back as one artist to the next! :)
I'll email you for a quote for a Toothless plush either tonight or tomorrow and pay within the next two or three weeks.~ Depending on price!
