Carl, albeit it larger then most rats his species, is completely mute besides the small squeaks he tries to use to communicate in the old races tongue. Has a dry erase board around his neck for most of his needed input for work, very neat hand writing.

Van here was the other partner in the cockpit escapades of Lettice that got them both discharged but sent off honorable to reevaluate their lives and adjust to civilian life once more.
While Van has been fine with this, Lettice has been taking out all her pent up 'angst' onto poor moffit whenever she pleases, but because of his stamina and size in general, he is able to withstand her onslaught for several hours.
