the only problem with this is a lot of artist have a hard time just making money (If they are under 1000 watchers normally and only make money off art)

Well, ok but the way you put it makes it sound like " your art IS going to be stolen"
It made me panic a little haha But one of my watchers explained it to me like 10 mins ago.

I am just really paranoid and try to avoid art theft even when it's unavoidable ^^. One of my friends have already been affected by it and her art is currently for sale for credits on IMVU from a user. So yes in a way they are making money off of her work because if I am not mistaken you have to buy credits on IMVU. So in turn other people on IMVU are using art to make money which in turn IMVU is making money off of FA. Which is probably what they wanted to happen anyways. If Dragoneer gave even the littlest of a SHIT about us IMVU would be taking the necessary steps to patrol their forums properly to ensure furry art is not being stolen. But why would they do that when in turn its making them money? :|

I just think the whole situation is wrong and its the biggest art theft heist I have ever witnessed. It will only get worse with time so that is why I am talking to everyone and trying to give out important legitimate info about what is going on and how it will affect them. I am just here to help<3

I just think that people who are popular there gonna get art stolen, it happens. I have no idea what/how imvu works but i feel like i have to make an account just so i can try to keep an eye on the art theft.

Watermarking wont help :\ the only true way to completely avoid art theft is to not promote your work on the internet :P but how would one make a business? So its a cycle that will never end unfortunately.

Also just important info here.. In order to file a DMCA with IMVU first off to even file a DMCA your art has to be legitimately copyrighted that means you have to register it. Simply showing "proof" as in WIPs and PDSs files and watermarks along with completion dates wont help. That is just your basic IP copyright and in a DMCA one can over look those things. Also (not entirely sure that this is true but a lot of answers point to "yes") In order to file a DMCA with IMVU you have to have an AP account with them and guess what! You have to buy it! :O

So in the end I can see IMVU taking advantage of FA and make as much money as they can off of it.

Trust me they are aware of the art theft that is going on but no one in the company INCLUDING DRAGONEER will do absolutely nothing about it. Why? Because money!
