hey are you going to AnthroCon and also go to the artshow?
hey it's sad that i have to ask that but it seems more and more people are not going through the artshows at conventions anymore.
I'm doing this for a few years now and some people even asked me what that is ^^#
to be my pictures never sold well.
So I actually think of stopp doing this. ;/
What would also mean I'm not at AC in any kind of way.
I really would love your oppinion on it.
Are you going into the artshows? Do you want to buy art?
What do you think about it?
Would you like my art being there?

FA+

And I got the feeling many younger furries just skip atshows completely
Many people do visit convention art shows. Selling things in a gallery/show setting is rare, so don't let weak sales bother you; even if you don't sell something, it is great advertising!
and if (when) I did, I would absolutely go see the art show,
But I'm not a big fan of ques, so I would probably storm past artist with ques.
...Also found a good spot in my living room for the "Song for the lost" that I bid on at NFC 2015, I Just have to find a frame for it
Sales have slowly gone down since I started to do them sadly.
This year at TFF I decided to bid on a couple pieces. The day of the auction, I went by an hour in advance, noticed I had been out-bid, and increased the bid on one piece. Before I even stepped away, a gentleman walked up and wrote a new bid under mine. I found that to be a serious turn-off as I really don't enjoy high pressure sales or competitive atmospheres.
I don't know if I'll bid again any time soon, but I will still visit each and every art show at every con. I think it's good marketing at any rate to have your pieces on display unless it costs you money.
This is why I think that less people buy stuff from the art shows. On the other hand, it is prime advertising space. You should probably ask for visitor statistics to make the decision
(Which brings us to the discussion why people nowadays don't understand how much time and work goes into a picture - beside the 10€ for the paper *sigh*)
Another problem i found at the EF last year might be that you first have to enter the (mostly overcrowed) dealers den to reach the art show - and you CAN really miss the art show entrance if you don't look for it.
At both Confuzzled and EF, I make a point of hitting the art show and having a good look round, there's usually at least one cute little thing I decide that I have to have (even if it means standing in the Artshow Closing and outbidding everyone else) in addition to my Den purchases.
Some people might not bother with the art show, but for me, it's a won't-miss.
