Here are my thoughts on the new layout. Please, these are just my opinions. I also offer afew ideas. It'd be really appreciated if anty admin would read this in order to improve this site. Thanks.
I already said how much I hated Project Phoenix
The new UI is more or less like everything I didn't like from project Phoenix: blocky, cramped, dark, TOO WEASYL.
I don't use weasyl nor sofurry because I don't like how they look. Now FA looks like them
Everything is too big for me, but the thumbmails are too small. The background is too dark and it actually hurts my eyes. I prefer blueish-grey over black-grey.
The +watch and send note buttons: LOVE THEM
Then we have the notes. Again, that preview box. Some people didn't want it, so you agve us the option to remove it. That option is not in the new UI
I don't like the new arrangement of sections on my userpage. Specifically, I don't like that my profile info has been moved to the very bottom of the page in favor of recent submissions at the top. One of the things that I had always preferred about FA over other sites was that my profile, received top-billing on my page, not the content I upload. I mean... Recent submissions and recent favorites. DEFINITELY NO, at least not where they are now. Contact info is now at the very bottom, wich is not very nice and the profile is now clustered along with the shoutbox in columns. Just no.
In each artist's page, offer a field to put above the submissions with artist info, or put the current artist info a the top. While its nice to have the art noticeable, sometimes I prefer to see who's the artist before having the art right away.

Change the color of the "nuke" buttons in your inbox to have a darker red and lighter letters, because right now their text is sightly difficult to read well in some screens
When its released, even if this layout becomes the default, offer the option for the old one, so people who hates change can stay with it, even if they lose some possible features.
I love how the comments look like in this beta.
Also... where are our folders? I'd rather have folders than a new UI layout

like that? I noticed it missing too. Now it's more confusing to tell if you have any new notifications unless you keep erasing the lists.
