A few days ago, Tara (my famely's Golden retriever) died. The vet gave her the needle, and she died in my mother's arms while my my mom sang for her. My mom told me it looked like Tara died happy. Her fur was copper/golden coloured, and she had warm loving eyes.
She was 10 years old, so you could say she started to become an old dog, and she had problems with her legs for a long time. we did all we could do to ease her pain, and the vet did his best aswell, but i guess it was her time.
She was a special dog.
She acted like she thought she was human,
If some kids got hurt, she was there to help them (she ran over to them and nuzzled them and tryed to chase her own tail to make them laugh) even tho her legs was bad.
She loved to meet new people, but was always careful to not scare them.
I could go on and on telling about how she was, but i shall make it short..
She was a dog that cared more about other's than herself, but if you spent some time with her, she would be soo happy and you could see her eyes brighten up. She was a little afraid of the dark, but her biggest fear was those big garbage-bags that made sounds if it was windy outside. hehe.
I remember when she was a cub and ran away from home. We looked all over for her, without any sign of her. But, as soon as it got dark outside, we could hear someone scratch on the door, wanting to get in to those that loved her.
It feels like i not really can share with you all how special she was. You would have to be there, see her and meet her to notice what i mean.
But, that is a little too late now.
She managed to do an impact, and even changed the life for some people that lives where my parents (and Tara) lived. I swear, if she was a human, you would have heard about her.
She was a good dog.
Rest in peace Tara. I hope you are a happy dog wherever you might be right now, and that maby one day, i will see you again.
