Okay Updates Day 3

Okay so we spoke to the surgeon about a -problem area- that was swollen.
A hard knot formed above the hole and he was able to confirm that it's just
from the irritation. Basically the skin around is becoming hard from the inflammation
nothing to be alarmed about. It will eventually go down.
He is still on diabetic meds and diet to try and keep his blood sugar under control so his body
can focus on fighting the infection.
For those that are curious about the blood sugar.
David is likely *NOT* diabetic. However if you have an infection THIS bad
it can cause your sugar levels to sky rocket. When he got here it was 273
not it's hovering in the 150-190 area. They just have to treat him as if he was diabetic
so his body does not have to basically, therefore it can focus on fighting the
infection only.
his white blood count has improved from when he got here too. The antibiotics
are working it seems. The wound itself is looking great too. t's a nice fleshy
pink color and while it's always going to drain, the bleeding has slowed down.
We did get some shitty news though about this type of infection. It'll be easier
to get it again now that he has had it. So we are going to follow the advice of the
surgeon and from now on when David is working or has to be out for a long period
of time, he'll have to use powder. Even though he is already a clean guy he will have
to be extra super clean.
He has been trying to get as much sleep as he can but it's not easy. You see we
now know he has that herniated disk on his lower back just above the tail bone.
So his back REALLY hurts and he has to be on his back as much as possible.
Or on his side, he cannot lie on his tummy and it hurts real bad to move
too much.
Again if you have not figured out where the hole is then I suppose
keep guessing? I refuse to answer any questions asking where it is.
I guess that is all for now, I keep dozing off again. Man I am tired...
We BOTH are of course him alot worse. I'm gonna tell you right now.
He has has GOT to be on of the toughest dudes I know. By watching
him just take that pain is really hard but also quite amazing.
Welp that is all for now, I'm very tired so I'm gonna try to catch some Zzz's
while David is snoozing. He will be okay... Just got to take this one day at a time.
