I have no idea what happened, he called up and got mad at me because I wanted to move to canada and then he got mad because i didn;t want to be president (for some stupid reason he seemed set on it, probably because he was piss drunk) and he asked why i never visit. i told him my mom wont allow it because he's always drinking and he hung up. called back 10 minutes later saying i'm "ivited" to the funeral with my coffin

he lives in the same state, 3-4 hour drive away. i have no clue what he has, he probably has a gun, i know he has a hunter's knife, and i know he has a guillotine. he also has a ton of connections. i live with my mom, but she's not a very strong person and is very submissive and tends to blab out things she shouldn't. i have a friend who doesn;t live too far away. i'd stay with my b/f in canada if i could but his family wouldn;t want me there that long, he's trying to get an appartment to move me out of here and in with him

Geez. =/ I'm sorta in a similar situation, but my dad never drinks...he's just mentally unstable, which is why I got his collection of guns out of the house. My mom is weak and very submissive as well, also unstable. Neither of them have 'connections' though. Wow...I'm not sure what to say or how I can help, man. Should maybe see if your friend can help you out for a bit, at least, if you're concerned that he might actually try something.

You're not doomed. Just breath deeply, and take a look at the reality of the possibility of something happening. The worst thing you can do is panic, and the best thing is to be prepared to take action in some form. Make sure you have contact with the outside world (i.e., police), and talk to your friend near you tomorrow.

Call the police hun, it might sound drastic, but it needs to be done, he basically threatened your life... so he broke the law there... and they can set up a restraining order or something to protect you and your mom if needed

It'll still help. If anything go right to the station. If nothing happens then so what? You're not wasteing there time because thats what they're for. You'll be no worse. They'll keep an eye on you. If not then at least call them. then spend a night or two at a friends house. a friend your dad doesnt know or a hotel if you can afford it.

You got a death threat. The cops cant beleive anyone but they'll do their best to help. Aside from that who cares if he's angrier at you as long as your safe.

thanks... it might be safest right now for me to just ask them if they could somehow keep a watch on me and not talk to him, because he could easily find out if they did. I'll see if i can stay with my best friend, he does't know about her since he barely pays attention to my life

That's the best thing for you to do. Call the cops and then stay with a friend for a few days. He sounds like a blowhard that just gets his kicks out of scaring you, but I think you'll feel safer with a friend.

I live with my step-dad who is by the sound of it quite akin to your father. The best thing to do at times like these is to avoid him let him cool off and sober up if it gets any worse..... (as in physically violence towards anybody or a more physical threat) call the cops....... or kick his ass first then call the cops...... my dad ended up through a table once I had good reason to do it too...... but that is a story for another time. Be safe hun and just try and avoid him for now

That sounds more like a murder threat than a disowning.

My dad disowned me, see, and it was nothing like that. A disowning is "You are no longer a part of this family, get the hell out of my house first chance and until then here's a heavy-ass rent." What you got is threatened. And the best thing to do in the case of a threat like that, drunk or not, is alert the authorities. They take that kinda thing more seriously than one'd think.

Yeah, i just wasn't sure because he tends to use stupid metaphores when hes drunk. i'm gonna call his parents and the police so i can feel a bit safer. his mom and dad are really nice and understanding (so i don't know where he went wrong, baffles me, really)
