I recently commissioned BigSexyPlush to create a likeness of Freya Crescent from Final Fantasy IX in plush form. The following is my honest review of BigSexyPlush.

Initial Impression.

Noticed that BSP had many different websites that had their various commissions posted, Sites such as Furaffinity, Patreon, Twitter and of coarse their own website.
Their website has detailed information on how to contact them, form to fill out to get a price quote for a custom plush, plush cleaning information and most importantly a list of there current projects.
Order Status on their homepage is regularly updated with details on what is being worked on per project.

Quality:

All of BSP plush looked to be of the highest quality. The details on them where nothing short of amazing. Top quality fabrics used.

Quick Response Time.

BSP was quick to respond to my inquires about a custom plush. Communications through Emails was fastest. Very friendly and personable, a pleasure to speak to.

Pricing Breakdown.

BSP gave a incredibly detailed price quote for my plushy broken down into easy to understand segments. including the separate prices for the various extras as well as the extra cost of expedited work. Meaning my plushy would have a higher priority then others.

I decided to go with expedited.

Payment:

I was impressed that they has sent an invoice via paypal requesting the appropriate amounts. I had the bulk of the payment set into two separate payments. Third and final payment being the shipping. Options where given from the start to break payments down into thirds or fourths, payment plans basically.

Updates:

BSP gave regular updates on my plush status with very little prompting on my part. All through email and sometimes via skype.

On time.

Plush was finished by the estimated time and shipped out ASAP. Tracking information was given via USPS tracking and shipment was insured. Tracking info even given out prior to actual shipment. Indicates BSP has a professional set up with there shipping and business.

Plush arrived at estimated time in good condition. Shipping method did not leave plush all smooshed and deformed. Very tall box.

Freya was everything I was hoping for, very soft and very dense. I love how full bodied and heavy she is, makes her so much more huggable. Such a sweet face and cute paws. Her Dragoon outfit was amazingly done.

Overall impressions.

BSP to me has the ideal set up for owning a custom plush business. Their information set up is very consumer friendly, well organized and professionally done. The fact that they had such a detailed website is what initially drew me in. I was hesitant to try and get another plushy from a new maker, I have been scammed before and was worried about it happening again but after watching BSP and seeing how regularly they updated their websites I knew they were what I wanted in a plush maker.

I have personally dealt with other plush makers before. Most of which you have to twist their arm to get any kind of updates from them. Only way some of them would even work is without constant reminders and pokes. Many projects taking months sometimes a year or more to do just one.

If you have some interest in owning a custom plush store then take my advice. Appearance is key, people like me notice things like order status, regular updates and even things like twitter posts indicating you are there and active. The customer should not have to prod you to get work done. They paid you and there for you are obligated to provide them with what they asked for.

Downsides.

Nothing to do with the actual quality of the plush but the cosplay outfits buttons fell off almost right away, that was from the Cosplays store error not from BSP. Her left breasts has a slight seem rip but is something I can fix myself easily if it becomes a problem.

I did pay for expedited so mine took 5 weeks, it would take longer for any other plush. My advice would be to get on the list ASAP chances are that other people are way ahead of you already so do not wait.
