Last night in the middle of a Skype call Firefox became unresponsive. I thought this was just a script that stopped working and all I had to do was kill and restart my browser. The moment after I clicked confirm to stop the script error I lost the ability to interact with anything on my system since it became unresponsive and unable to call up task manager. I received a BDOS Kernal Error - M168 or M186. (I am mildly dyslexic and the screen disappeared after several seconds). My laptop tried to force reboot but was stuck on the splash screen for several minutes. Three cold reboots later I still had no internet access and very limited and laggy (as in taking over 2 minutes to open audio services) basic system access. I was unable to start any programs from start menu or icons. After a night of sleep, I am in safe mode and in the process of trying to resolve the error.

Note: I am an above average computer user but I realize that I do not know everything. So, if there are any more experienced users out there that would be willing to lend assistance or offer feedback it would be welcomed and appreciated.

Will update this journal as tasks are preformed.

Current status: June 7th
-Running virus scan - unable to complete
-Malwarebytes loaded, updated, and standing by
-Updating Java, unable to complete install, received code 1601, unable to start service in safe mode, failed, unregister and reregister, failed
*Successfully installed and verified
-Side vents are clean and clear upon visual inspection
-Current temp is warm but within tolerances
-Slimdriver to update all drivers, installed and updated 7 of 7 driver issues found
-Resolved issue with Windows Installer in Safe Mode

To do:
-Specky (idle temp - laptop has been running hot recently)
-Look into disassembling laptop and clearing out the dust this weekend
