::RANT:: Yet another reason I hate religion.

So I went to the Hospital a while back, with a severe migraine, while I was still pregnant. They gave me medication for it, monitored me for a while, referred me to a neurologist for the cause of them, stuff like that.
As you know, I have my fursona, Artha, who is the Floofdemon and how my username is often ArthaDemon or Artha-Demon… I love to draw and am a creative mind, and was boredly chatting with one of the nurses about it; showing them art and stuff. She was bored, I was bored, and she seemed to like the art and stories and such. She commented that she wished she was as creative as I am, and that she wished she could draw like I could, and she liked the design for my fursona.
She thought it was really cool and creative… until she got to the subject of religion. She said something about “God watching over me and my son”
I then calmly told her I am not Christian, and do not believe in god. Her attitude instantly changed, she acted like a bitch for the rest of the time I was there; and THEN tried to have me committed to a mental hospital, claiming that having a fursona meant I was crazy! I pretty much told them off and made them discharge me, and refused to go to the mental hospital since I didn’t need to go. I had to sign something saying I refused treatment, but I didn’t NEED it so I was NOT going to waste my time.
I’m not crazy, I am just a creative mind with my own beliefs. And because of that, the bitch of a religious fucktard nurse had the NERVE to actually call Child Protective Services on me! Because I am not Christian and she thought that would make me an unfit parent.
I had to talk to a fucking social worker, and now I have to go get a “Mental Health Assessment” - and parenting classes. Just because that stupid piece of shit nurse had to bring her fucking religion into it.
Because some over religious nurse thought she could “Save his little soul” by trying to get him taken away. It is complete bullshit. I am furious.
Religion is NOT A REASON to call CPS. It is NOT. A difference in religion IS. NOT. A. REASON. TO. SUSPECT. A. PROBLEM.
SO YEAH. I am fucking PISSED. This is BULLSHIT. I hope that fucking piece of shit bitch gets fired for this.
RELIGION HAS NO PLACE AT WORK. RELIGION HAS NO PLACE OUTSIDE OF YOUR OWN HOME, CHURCH, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY. Just because somebody has different beliefs then somebody else does not give them the right to try to make decisions for them.

Perhaps you won't sure, but a strongly worded letter is still a good way to go in my book. Then there's documentation that it was done and if it happens again then you may have grounds for legal action against them. Possibly. Perhaps discussing the problem with a lawyer is a good idea too.
I agree with the letter and a small lawsuit would be a good idea if you're having to pay out of pocket at all for any of it (mental health assessment for example).
Also... What??? I've talked to plenty of therapists about being a furry (some were crap therapists, others decent) and not one thought it was part of a mental illness but rather a connection with my artistic self and/or part of an artistic exchange. Also, with how many popular comic artists consider at least one character to represent themselves, mental hospitals would be super full. This isn't the late 19th or early 20th century. You can't be thrown in a mental hospital for a difference of opinion or anything as small as having an artistic representation of yourself.
Most importantly, she's a nurse. She has NO authority to do this. I hope you have filed a complaint with the hospital about this because this is not the way a professional nurse is supposed to act.
I'm sorry you were subjected to such a religious bigoted bitch, Artha. Please keep us updated on this. My parents had to deal with medical personnel trying to have me taken from them too. If that jerkwad of a military doctor had his way, I'd be stuck in a Scotland or an American orphanage and all because my parents went to a civilian doctor for a second opinion. (the civilian was right, btw, and he saved my brother and I from Scarlet Fever).
I would also second the suggestion to write a letter of complaint to the head of the hospital you were at. She deserves to lose her job over this.
No longer should she think, not for one second, that dictating her religion onto others is a good cause by god.
She can't ask her god to forgive her anymore.
I am truly sorry for your loss. Be the best of a person you can ever be.
