Guys, I really don't want to do this.
I abhor having to complain and whine about finances and beg for help.
But I really need your help.
I have some REALLY big bills coming up, and I need to raise as much money as I can to help pay them.
We are going to have to dip hard into our savings and this leaves us with not a lot of money to fall back on for other emergencies.
If you guys have been following me or my hubby, you know that his mom has a lung cancer that nothing can be done about.
She went into the hospital on Wednesday and they thought that she wasn't going to make it, so we literally threw a bunch of clothes into a bag and drove 8.5 hours down to Pensacola, FL to be here.
Thank God she is doing better now, she is out of the ICU but FAR from out of danger. She will be in the hospital for a while I am sure and then to a hospice. And she could get worse at any time. Its only a matter of time, she can only beat the reaper so many times before he wins.
That emergency trip down here already put a hit on our wallet, for gas, food (we had to mostly eat out because there was little time to cook, we were at the hospital a lot) and groceries to help his father, who is in bad health himself, since he has to do everything in the house. Plus Paul may not get paid for the time he was down here, and he pays the mortgage out of his checks.
But the trip was not the big expense.
They are:
1. We have a large crack on our windshield that has to be a total replacement. That happened on our last trip to Pensacola only a couple of months ago, when she was once again in the hospital. That is going to take about $315 to fix.
2. The back tires are out of alignment and will need to be replaced and aligned. I can temporarily put that off by switching sides on the back tires, but that doesn't fix the ultimate problem. It only buys me a little bit of time. I don't have a quote for that, but I would guess that it will be at least $200.
3. The big one is this... while down here we preemptively set up the funeral arrangements for his mom, for when the time comes, which we hope will be far down the road. We are going to pick up some of the cost, so that will be between $1500-2000.
We are talking about $2500 in bills, plus the normal bills that we always have to pay, with the chance that we might have to miss more work to come down here any time if she gets worse again.
I know there is no way on God's Green Earth that we can raise that much money, but I am really hoping that I can get at least a little bit of that back.
I am offering a Pay What You Want commission. I don't care what you want me to do, I will take most anything.
If you simply want to give a donation, that would be wonderful as well.
Please, please, I beg you, get the word out, tell as many people as you can, maybe link a journal here, tell people on Twitter and Facebook. I'd like to get as many PWWY commissions as I can to try to cushion this huge blow to our savings.
Anyone who is interested in a commission or a donation, please comment here or send me a note and I can give you my Paypal address.
I am a bit more leery of giving it out because of an incident that literally only got fixed yesterday. A person tried to scam me out of $25, but thankfully Paypal saw it my way and I didn't need to pay.
I don't care if its even a dollar, any little bit can help. Thank you all so much for reading this whole thing, and for getting the word out.

About the car, I did want to let you know that they generally don't do much to align the back tires. Most cars do not have adjustments on the back and don't change unless you hit something. When the back is out a bit, the shops try to adjust the fronts to compensate if they can and most seem to not include any parts and labor to adjust the back even in a "4 wheel alignment" job. At least that has been my experience. The alignment can be changed on cars that do not have adjustments by installing angled shims behind the wheel hub. I had to do that myself once because the shop and the dealer said it wasn't bad enough even though it was out of range. I was really peeved about that, but got it done without too much trouble and the shim was only like $5 plus shipping. Depending on the wear problems of the tires, you may have something else going on though. It could be like worn wheel bearings or bad shocks.
Tell timber I said hi. Hope you guys remember me.
