Yeah, it's been a rule since november of 2013. It's because a lot of popular users or users offering a lot would get a massive amount of attention, and the entirety of the New Journals section for most people was "RAFFLE!". Suffice it to say, after a solid year of that, people were peeved, so we made a petition for it to be a rule.

That makes sense. If I were to take out the "post a journal" requirement I should be good though, right? I mean no one would be spammed with "RAFFLE!" journals or entries or anything, I'm not asking for money or anything like that either. The only rules against raffles in general is the one against the raffles you have to pay for I believe.

I've seen plenty of Raffles. I didn't see how this was posted, how was it breaking the rules?

Do not host or participate in any form of gambling.
Gambling involves paying a monetary fee to participate in a game of chance for the opportunity to win a prize. May also be called a raffle, contest, sweepstakes, or lottery. This does not include events where users are guaranteed to win a prize just for participating and may pay extra for a chance at a better prize.

This is the only rule I see about raffles.

"DO Not spam"

This includes registering accounts or posting content automatically, messaging users en masse with ads, posting content that is nonsensical and/or unnecessarily long or page breaking, reblog contests, "spam to win" content, and "watch trains." Do not encourage users to signal boost your content."

That's what I found, do you think it would be allowed if I took out the "post a journal" rule? I didn't want to push my luck to much so I took it down but I'll relist it that's the only thing I need to change lol

Forcing, encouraging or just asking people to advertise in a journal is against the Spam to Win rule.

It would be golden. The rule states no encouraging of journal posting at all, so you can't even suggest posting a journal. It's a bit lop-sided at times.

What was the broken rule? I didn't get to readt them butI'll guess requiring a journal, what youc can do though is free entry with a bonus entry for reposting, and that's completely fine

It was the "Do not spam" rule, which now that I think about it, if I take out the "post a journal" requirement I think it will be okay. I was trying to play it safe earlier and just took it all down but if that's all I need to take out I'll put everything back up!

To my knowledge your well within the rules now, if you wish to spread the word more you're allowed within the rules to grant a bonus entry for anyone who posts a journal, requiring a journal is against a few rules in the tos last I checked, but bonuses for doing them are still allowed im fairly certain, also can I get an entry?
