Theres a cat that needs your help in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The catch is, he's a bit ill from a scrape with another cat, and his bites got infected, so they need tending to with medicine. He also has feline HIV, which is basically feline AIDS. If he's the only feline in a home, he could live a long life, happy and with someone to love him. He's a sweetie; and he's only about nine years old.
He was found outside, and had obviously lived outside for awhile, but it's obvious that he was once a indoor cat, because he wasn't afraid of me at all or anyone else. He begged for attention and pets. He meowed and purred when given attention... and I want to see him get that, because a cat that has suffered like this one has deserves a home and love with someone that will love and care for him just as any other cat, dog or anything else deserves. He has until 6 AM ...and then they're putting him down, because I can't have him with the two other cats in my home, which kills me.
I'm not gonna lie. He's in rough shape, but with some help, he could be healthy again (as much as his FIV allows).

Poor kitties... TvT
Typically feline FIV is nowhere near as virulent as human HIV. My mate and I have several FIV cats, and they are all healthy and thriving. They do not transmit it to other cats so long as there is no deep biting (thankfully that's never been an issue with any of our felines).
But hey, here's a really fun fact - there's an immunization that cats may be given to help them keep from being infected with feline FIV. The problem with that immunization is that after any cat has had it, forever afterwards they will test positive for having feline FIV. Isn't that just awesome?
GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY!
did adopt this lovely kitty from me. He's safe, now, and won't be put down for something he can't control. I thought everyone should know as soon as possible. Thank you to EVERYONE that mirrored this, told people, or even read it. Autumn and I, and everyone involved thank you all deeply.
