Hold ups

Seems that the system has ways of protecting itself against people in groups (unless they're VERY large groups). After taking the first steps toward writing a petition to help with my case with the United States Social Security office, I've been informed by a disability lawyer that at this time this kind of action would be harmful to me. I'm having to bide my time before I can actually make a stand against them, and if I act prematurely it could result in the loss of my appeal rights. So much for power in numbers, looks like I have no choice but to play their stupid little games.
This is remarkably bad, considering that during my wait I can't earn any income, or it could also result in a disqualification for my claims. I guess that this government's going to do whatever it wants regardless of what the public thinks...NO surprise there.

*hugs you tightly* You got my full supportive power.
You also need to know that without the government, there wouldn't be a social security system in place, and thus no hope in getting any money at all from a disability. The government is still serving the people, though because there are those that want to take advantage of tax payers money by filing fraudulent claims, some of what you are experiencing are precautions to prevent those immoral individuals from getting money from other US citizens.
Granted, the system has flaws. Like those attorney commercial advertise, there are a lot of people with legitimate claims that have been stuck for years trying to go at it by themselves. Ironically this leads to need to hire an attorney to help out with disability claims, and a good bit of money making on the attorney's part with all the claims. Just know you're not the only one out that that has to wade through the BS. Misery loves company, right?
There is going to be a lot of paper work, uncertainty, and most chilling of all, bills to pay. But through it all, you are still clawing you way forward and searching for something better. That takes a good deal of strength, determination, and drive. Just don't go off bragging about it. ^.~
All that I can advocate is patience. It seems you are already proactive and determined, but you will also need the support of those that care for you and love you during such difficult times. We are sociable creatures after all... not me though... never... stop looking at the text like that. xD
I sincerely wish you well, Nate, from a stranger that likes your artwork, and more than likely telling you what you already know (If that is the case, ignore all of the above). ^.^
*hugs* I'm so sorry to hear that. But perhaps we don't limit the group to Alabama people.
I really hate red tape, you know?
