Tablet update, PROJECT MARCHOSIAS and Paypal worries
10 years ago
Tip Jar! (do not pay for commissions this way, please!)
So, computer and tablet are still not playing nice, so a plan of sorts has been done to rectify that.
That is PROJECT MARCHOSIAS, which I'll elaborate more on once it arrives next week. I'll give you guys more info on that come next Friday but suffice to say, it is a good thing, or at least I hope so.
In the MEANTIME, though, with the tablet out of commission, I can't resume working on my commission backlog as most are at the halfway point in getting finished and are done in Paint Tool SAI, a program that needs a drawing tablet to work with. Limited-time Illustrator or b/w traditional sketch commissions are a possibility, but that leads me to another recent worry.
Recently, Paypal got a bit mat with the Puerto Rican government, to say the least, and pretty much said no on P2P payments. Now I use invoices, so that's not an issue, but my account is currently a personal account, so I'm uncertain if I'm affected or not. This has me in a somewhat panicky mood as I'm not sure how boned I am in terms of accepting payments that way. An alternative to Paypal would be something to consider for later on if need be, but it wouldn't be a decision I could do overnight...that, and I wouldn't know where else to go for that, either. Suggestions are, of course, welcome.
So yeah, that's what I got so far. Hopefully better news will show up soon, I hate being such a downer dino to you guys all the time :/

Anyway hopefully your tablet situation is resolved soon ;3; sucks its not working.
"This Legislative Assembly deems it necessary to establish recurring sources of income by imposing special charges on certain transactions carried outside and inside the jurisdiction of Puerto Rico. (…) it is in the public interest to impose charges on transactions originated in the local jurisdiction involving assets that no longer circulate in the local economy."
In short, they goofed economically and are taxing their citizens and anyone sending money to them with the "gift payment" function. And Paypal is pulling that support because the "gift payment" system doesn't seem to be intended to have taxes taken out of it. Inconvenience indeed. Bitcoin works just fine in the meantime (alas I have no bitcoins).
