So, after receiving a very unpleasant message in our "Artist Removal" form I thought it best to let everyone know exactly how we work.

The Artists Beware website IS checked by us with each and every recommendation we receive. Does this mean that if an artist is found on this site that they will be denied approval by us? NO!

What some of you may not realize is this: Once an artist has been placed on Artists Beware, they are there permanently. Fair? I don't think so.
There are many many reasons for an artist to be named on the Artist Beware website, and to be quite honest, some of these reasons are petty.

When assessing a recommended artist, we use the Artist Beware website as a guide only. If an artist is spotted on Artist Beware, it kicks start an investigation.

What is the process? Here is how it is done:

- An artist is spotted on Artist Beware
- All of the information regarding said artist is read thoroughly.
- All links containing evidence are checked thoroughly.
- how long ago did this incident/s occur (was it recent? are there still problems?)
- how is the artist doing now with reputation compared to the time of the incident/s

What you need to understand is, IF the artist was placed on Artist Beware for a legitimate reason, this does not mean that the artist deserves to be on this website forever. People can change. Its a known fact.
Yes, some artists never change this is true. Hence why things are taken seriously when an artist is found on Artist Beware. At the same time, we want to ensure that the artist is not permanently punished for some mishap that happened months or even years ago.

If you feel that we have made a wrong decision on an artist, please feel free to complete the Removal form with NEW evidence, and please - no nasty comments to staff here at TA.
We do our best to ensure everyone is treated fairly.
