About E621 removing my artworks.[DONE]
As many have seen yes my artworks are taken down from that site. I filed the thing to have them be removed.
To say why is that I was never okay with the fact that random people would post my works up from my galleries. I'm not okay with others posting up my drawings unless it's the commissioners themselves posting up what they have paid for. Yea I know some commissioners where putting their stuff up but many aren't them.
It was going on for a long while without me knowing. I say when the CMIFC comic was about to end is when I learned about it. I just monitored it for awhile to see how it was and goes. My god the comments. Many don't know what's going on without the descriptions I have up mainly here explaining or anything. I'de try to go in and say things without giving it away but in the end it's frustrating. Why I mainly want people to look at my main galleries or the other links I have where others can find me.
I also hate the fact that people have been editing and posting my works there. The hell that's super rude.
The site just stresses me out.
It was only recently that I found out how to take them down but I ended up waiting weeks to finally go through with it. So please respect that I made the decision to do this.
You don't have to like it but please move on.
EDIT: I've made my decision. You guys can keep telling me I did wrong but I did what I felt was right for me. Most of these comments are just going in circles now. I have my reasons right there in plain view.
Here's a list cause why not?
- I never gave consent for posting my works in the start.
- Edits/Tracings have been made on my artworks and were posted there.
- I can't monitor comments very well there.
- Even when people noticed my works there not many would go to the source and stick to there.
- Many will ONLY view my works from there and ignore everywhere else my galleries are.
- Because many people only stick to that site I still don't have much potential business.
- Comments of complaining and bashing when I had to explain things they didn't understand.
- Constant messages there about when the next page is up even though it's been already posted on the main gallery and or I have a schedule for things.
- I'm just done with that site man. The stress built up so bad I can't anymore.
I'm just tired of discussing why anymore. Just done.
I'M NOT GOING TO CONTINUE TALKING OF THIS IN THIS JOURNAL OR ANYWHERE ELSE.
EDIT 2X:
Welp if you guys see that my reasons are invalid here is one.
I don't want my artworks on that site.

FA+

people need to learn some respect
I explicitly asked you permission waaaaay back about posting parts of you "Her Name" comic.
Ah well, I found you and watched you through e6. So I will unfollow upon joining the DNP list.
Shame :(
Either way, your stuff, your call
I also found it weird that I had to have my reason out there in the open? Ha, even if it's out there people still come here or my tumblr and asks me why I took them down still?
It's nice that people elaborate on the reason why they want it deleted, as it helps us seeing if there is something we might need to change, and it's nice to the community so they, too, can see why their favorite artists don't want to be present on our pages, but it's pretty much optional. It does help telling us if someone wants DNP status, though.
As for the DNP list, it's simply impossible for us to keep track of characters, we can't even fully keep track of artists changing their names since they seldom announce that in a channel that we follow, and with characters, or people who own characters, it'd just get even worse.
Also, we can actually hide submissions from google and unregistered users, but those need to be enabled manually for every submission, if you want you can send me a note with a list of images and I'll change that for you. If you'd prefer a takedown request I can help with that as well.
We can't really do anything against google's caching, though. Even if we 404 the page itself google keeps the cache of the page around.
This has bothered us for years now, but it's sadly out of our reach to directly change or even delete google's caching, if they would allow that we would simply hook that up with the API and have this directly automated.
However, it is possible for me to remove the sources manually on deleted images, as well as forcing people to log into an account in order to view tags and the source.
But hey, I totally get where you're coming from. Even so, it's best to just take a step back, relax, and not let yourself get bothered by this. That'd help!
Sorry. The words are similar.
I just know if this is really big enough no artists would be willing to post their works on the internet anymore. Everyone will get nothing. But if I can spot or catch them I can get them taken down at least.
Or would have been typing this today. Yeah, you get rid of rude comments, and ass clowns. But you hurt the fans of your stuff as well.
There will always be the jerks. You can decide to ignore them, or try and be a censor. The later always looks worse on you.
You do not know me, or may never care, So I don't expect you to care for what I say.
But this makes you look bad. In every way of the light.
I've been on every forum/chan seen this happen with many artist/writers. It always ends the same.
Censorship in any light is always looked down upon. Deleting your shouts, removing of art.
Hell if you want, post it there your self. It's more advertising. Or give a very specific set of rules to posting your stuff else where.
But doing this hurts you, and others.
Like Nintendo copyright blocking reviews, and lets play of it's video games... Unless you pay.
It's hurting there sells. And their fans.
This is your choice in the end. You can block me, or ignore me.
To me though. The point of a artist is to share their work. Selling, or other ways. If it was sold content then there you would have a darn good reason to remove it.
And yes it's your place to remove it from sites that don't own it. But In a small part you hurt the ones that like your stuff. Not the ass clowns.. Cause in the end?
They never cared. They are there to get a rise out of you. So when you do this, they win. Not you, and not the fans.
This was a point of view. not a slam or bait. Just wanted to get my two cents out there. Thank you for your time if you read this.
So what I got out of all this is for me to shut up and stand by for people to do whatever they want with my drawings without my consent? I have specific rules about posting my works. It's been in my FAQ AND my Terms of Service. The problem is when it's posted elsewhere it's not seen. No one knows about it. They assume it's okay to do whatever they want cause HEY the artist isn't posting this. They aren't there to monitor it 24/7.
MAN so sorry my reasons aren't legit. So sorry I want to see where my art goes. So sorry I hate when people on e621 chose to butcher my artworks and draw directly on them and post them up. Even as far as to trace and call it their own. So sorry that people were posting without even asking if I was okay with this. Soooo sorry I want to have control on where my works are being viewed at.
Sure people were noticing me on e621. But they weren't going to my main posting site. Where I can see all the comments myself. Get more people to show up. Check what I have to say in journals. Posting more open commission slots so I have a way to keep having food to eat. I had a good reason on why I removed it. It's in this very journal and you are ignoring half of it.
Also, hey? Did you know? If people liked my stuff enough they go to the source. Did you know that? Not stick to some other site and be blind on when more will show? Not be in the shadows on what happens to the artist or their stuff.
Sure I get that my stuff being there gets more people to know me. But it means nothing if most don't go to the source. Most don't try to talk to me here or weasyl or tumblr. Not even Deviant art. I'm not getting business over there on e621. I live off commissions here I need to eat. I need to pay for my doctor visits. I need a roof over my head.
Really in reading your view it's just telling me to just shut up and be glad my stuff is being posted by others and being noticed. Should just be GLAD I'm so noticed but not supported.
There are several people who found you through your work being shared. What that person is trying to say is that by pulling your work and forbidding it from being shared, you're limiting your exposure. If you post work that people like, people are going to share it. Outside of not publishing the work that you do on the internet, there's not much you can do to prevent that from happening. If a person wants to trace over your work, pulling it from e621 isn't going to stop them if the artwork remains up elsewhere.
You totally have a right to have control over where your artwork gets published, but you'll drive yourself crazy if you try to manage people's posting habits. There are people who use my characters for roleplay and have even traced over works that I paid for and claimed it for themselves. I used to get upset, but it's never ending. My only two options were to either never post anything and take everything I had down, or to just relax and go with the flow, asking people to cite their sources as they appeared in front of me.
I made the choice and I'm sticking with it.
Or would have been typing this today. Yeah, you get rid of rude comments, and ass clowns. But you hurt the fans of your stuff as well.

I know myself and many, many others learned of your art and comics through E621, it is a great place to get noticed for small and large artists alike. It is your art, so it is your choice.
I did post a few of your works there, ones that LivingWell commissioned with our characters, so I apologize if that bothered you. I'll try to keep your DNP request in mind for any future things that come out of the same circumstance.
I don't even know if I can even change it now.
-edit never mind I forgot to turn the filter off
E621 is, like rule34, two of the sites where a porn artist can get the most traffic from. Just so you know, the few comic pages I've drawn got around 15 and 20k views, where on FA I'd be lucky to get more than 1000.
That equals to a shit ton of traffic straight to your main gallery, and more followers, and thus more commissioners, it improves your business, specially if you plan to make a living out of this.
Rude comments are e-ve-ry-where, bsolutely everywhere, there's jerks everywhere, seriously.
If your main worry is "people doesn't understand without my descriptions" then you could submit it yourself, and add them! Problem solved, you keep getting extra traffic, and people on e621 would understand what's going on (although a comic should never need a description to be well read).
On the edit business, you're right, it's rude and that should stop, but there's nothing like keeping an eye from time to time to avoid it, it's not that much of a deal.
But yeah, your art, your business. I think you did a rash decision and you didn't think of both pros and cons of it. And you should, there are more pros than cons in spreading your art as much as you can~
Cheers~
I can't keep an eye out all the time 24/7. It takes away my time to work on drawings if I do this. I can't deal with any more stress. I don't want to make shit quality on my drawings because of this. I mainly like it if I was the one posting in the first place but that point is long gone here.
Also dude. I know there are assholes everywhere. It's a given when you go on the internet. It intensifies when it deals with art. I already have to deal with many people who think they are entitled to anything I create.
I have to protect myself man. I have to make a living I know what consequences I will go through.
Shocking . . .
On that note, if you're saying you're unfollowing, how did you even notice my comment? Like...why are you stalking this journal?
Someone replied to a previous comment, and yes I reviewed the comment section upon arriving here again. Funny how the site has features and things
If you're no longer following her, why does what anyone else says matter to you now? I'm not sure if "expressing your opinion" is really a valid answer anymore.
They didn't win they dodged every question
The way people edit stuff though... Ugh >>;
"Important to note, we still allow “fan edits” but we will remove them if the artist wishes so and we may take action against the editor if the edits continue to be uploaded after the artist has asked to stop them."
I know that, have seen a lot of cooments. The most is hate, is so...
Pity, pity. Whatever you do... ever users are post your works on this site...
But, you've made your choice, and its clear nothing will change your mind. That's perfectly okay. Its your art, its your right to decide where it can or cannot be posted.
You will be missed.
Officially subbed.
Entirely up to your discretion of course. I don't see e621 as a bad site. More like a mainstream (and therefore full of people that haven't ripened up yet maturity-wise) site that can be taken advantage of in a negative light. They're pretty good for exposure in my opinion.
Hopefully people stop nagging you about this.
