This is a lesson from history.
Back in 2000's, the Westin hotel talked with Uncle Kage and presented them with all the damage that had happened. This made Uncle Kage none too pleased.
But then he had a thought. He asked that if a cleaning crew reported a trashed room, that they report it to the convention with the name on the reservation. The convention would then pull the person's badge and ban them from the con for life.
He then announced the policy change on the AC site and reminded folks at the next Anthrocon.
People cleaned up their act rather quickly.
This is something Rainfurrest et all should do from here on out.

If their behavior destroys the property of a hotel who is willing to assist in hosting a convention and give room discounts to the many attending I think it is only fair that a convention and hotel works together especially if it will hold people accountable.
There are still plenty of other conventions so they would be blacklisted from every convention in existence.
As for the AC policy, I'm not sure that is exactly the case. The issue was with attendees getting angry when maids ignored the "Do Not Disturb" sign after being left on the door all day. Then some of the attendees retaliated. That was the only time I know of where AC was threatened with expulsion. The policy is maids at all hotels must enter the room at least once during the day to make sure all is well and do any cleanup to keep things from getting out of control. That is the only response to Westin issues on their website. Was there some other policy that I didn't hear about?
Also, if a room is trashed, hotels have ways to charge the room owner for the damage. They should that and leave the rest of us out of it.
