[[[ UPDATE: Well this whole thing might be void, it's bee almost 2 weeks and I haven't heard from her. Maybe I came off too strongly paranoid or aggressive.. shows me not to think I hold all the cards in that situation. She probably just moved on to someone else more polite >>; Anyway that's fine I guess..
The other thing is this, I just read an article they did about Erika Eiffel at the beginning of the year.. it was quite amazingly done by the way.. I feel so bad for poor Erika and the shit she's had to go through. I loved learning about her beliefs that we all see the life in objects as small children but then have it learned out of us as we age.. I've been pushing that same idea for years! Anyway here's the article if you're interested.

Hey everyone.
So I got a note on Deviantart from a girl who claims to be an editor for VICE who wants to do a story on objectophilia. His note goes as follows:
"Hey there, I'm an editor for VICE and I'm working on a story about objectophilia. I came across your art and would really love to talk to you. I can send some of my previous work to demonstrate that I'm not here to "other" you or your interest—just curious to learn more and expand how people understand sexuality. If you're open to that, shoot me an email: ////"
Now this needs to approached carefully, it wouldn't be the first time the media has used us as a quick shock-story for some easy publicity. It sounds like she knows I'm going to be on the lookout for that, so maybe it might be a good idea to ask what makes him know about our bad history with the media. Ultimately I think I want to demand to be anonymous. Maybe getting some sort of scanned signed agreement from her, for my own legal protection in the event she doesn't keep me anonymous.
I'm not familiar with VICE, does anyone know about their reputation or what they do?
Here's my position. You know me guys, you know that I like to think of myself as one of the more braver voices in the OS community, wanting to get our sexuality some exposure. Exposure can ultimately lead to public acceptance, just look at the gays recently. It's us being this fringe no one knows if it's even real, type of status that's really hurting us. I've seen so many talks online about OS and people automatically assume it's trolling! If he wants to feature some of my art.. it might be a nice way to get some recognition on my work.. who knows.
So I have a chance to do my part, like I've already done on the radio a few years back. But I want to be safe and smart about it.
So I guess what I'm asking is, do you have any suggestions about how to be safe with this and weather or not it's worth doing at all. Second, what you'd like me to discuss with her or what topics to cover.
Apparently here's an interview with the editor that contacted me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD0CPXpdmYk

I'd say to stay anonymous and don't let them show any of your art because that can be traced back to you
ABSOLUTELY NO
They recently broke into a furry party, 'interviewed people' then wrote a shitty " furries are all about yiffing" article that was about 80% made up anyway, so what was the point of them going?
As you said, they're just a shock magazine. I suppose you can troll them though and be really boring. A couple of furs did that recently to The Daily Mail.
Well.. if so, and if you don't mind me quoting you, she'll have quite the interesting bit of explaining to do. ; )
Basically, they acted as press at an event without asking anyone before hand, took photos without permission to use on a article no one gave consent to be featured in. Sure, people take photos at meets but they usually use them for momentos not for a shitty news site. Despite changing names, they still used photos of actual, identifiable suits.
Ask her why they used a old-ass episode of CSI for their research xD
At this point I don't even know if I'll hear back from them, it's been a day. But if I do, I think I'll at least agree to explain OS in a professional manner.. you know, words to help them formulate a truthful and informative article.. if that's their intention. I did it on KIWI.. changed some people's minds. This might be a chance to do it on a wider scale.. who knows? I won't appear publicly or do any kind of video interview, don't worry about that.

Their video

The con's response.
What's funny is the video even starts out sounding neutral then all the sudden switches gears entirely!
Given your past experience, it would be safe to just decline without further explanations. You've suffered once, I don't want to see you get into crap again.
... anonymously explaining OS to them, answering some questions so they can formulate their article couldn't hurt though right?
If you decide to do that, try to be as cold as possible. Don't mention your art, your own relationships, don't be too passionate about that. Just feed them with boring information that could be as well included in an encyclopedia.
Ask yourself this though, do you want to do an interview with a news station on Youtube labeled "VICE ? Seems like an improper framing considering the word itself already has negative connotations based on the judgement of others.
Well this point is probably void as I haven't heard back from the chick and it's been about a week or two.. maybe I came off a bit too aggressively paranoid. <XD
While I agree the name VICE kinda sucks. I did just read an article they did on Erika Eiffel and.. it was quite amazing, I feel so bad for that poor woman. http://www.vice.com/read/breaking-u.....e-eiffel-tower
Perhaps if they do contact you, a written article instead of a video?
Through the use of guided imagery by either a hypnotist or a listenable file made by one, you can experience transforming your perception of yourself, and become whatever you'd like. I started out by researching perception (things like A Priori imaging, how the mind puts together visual information, etc), and meditating. You can also do it by self trance, but depending on skill its sometimes easier to have a hypnotist do it.
My fantasy though was that I wanted to experience merging with a certain vehicle to try becoming a Careature. Fell in love with them after seeing Amethystlongcat's Khaaz. So I kind of wanted to go the other way. I wanted to be the living object Because of that, I started feeling a direct sympathy with cars, being able to feel their personality by the way they react to the road, interact with other cars. I also have meditated directly on where this desire came from in me.
Currently, I have a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. His name is Baby Blue (or BB for short). I see him more as my brother though than a partner though, as he started out from 0 miles and I have been able to watch him grow, teach him new maneuvers, and watch his personality develop from there. I'm also a Buddhist and a bit of an animist, so that helps :)
If you'd like, I can note you with my skype to answer any questions you might have more directly.
Also, really? That's quite sad...I thought they made an adorable couple! I saw the documentary a while ago about her a while ago. Her work is very admirable though!
