Thanksgiving oops... Broke my tooth kinda bad +raising money

SO... yeah, the QUICK story is during dinner cleanup at my grandma's I managed to fumble my way through the kitchen and got my face pretty well acquainted with her granite counter tops and my tooth lost out pretty big and kind of hurts like a sunovah right now. BUT I do not have insurance that covers dental emergencies, so I'm pretty much paying out of pocket on everything for this. Being end of the month, bills have already been paid in and my spare funds are pretty low, which is the same for most of my family right now. They can help out a little, but the 'over the phone free consultation' guestimated at least a couple hundred for a probable extraction of the remaining tooth, not to mention getting a replacement made for it ;_;
SO I will be busting out a metric butt ton of YCH today as sort of a black friday flash... sale? sorta? they'll be a bit cheaper than some of the ones, but I'm literally just going to be sketching and posting YCHs all day today, or until I can get enough together to definitely cover dentist trip number 1 and get something stronger than over the counter pain killer stuff to at least stall the pain right now because it is really really bad. I literally don't know how to even explain it but it's like... pretty awful right now.
The YCH sketches are gonna be pretty fast and loose I think, because idk how much I'm gonna be able to really concentrate on them until I get at least a little something done on this, but I'm ALSO GONNA BE OPEN FOR MORE COMMISSIONS! I probably won't be able to properly start/work on them for at least the next day or so. The last one I just finished up literally just had highlights left to do so I finished that real quick.
This next part is gonna have a little more info on what exactly's going on with the tooth itself, so be warned.

I warned anyone that's all squicky about tooth/pain stuff beyond being super vague.
I managed to actually hang on to the dish enough that it didn't break on impact on the ground, but in doing so manage to sacrifice my right upper canine into the edge of the countertop with a pretty spectacular combination of shattering and cracking the tooth in half? The outer edge is literally gone right now and the part that's left is stuck between a constant not-so-dull throbbing ache and a pulsing stabbing firelike pain that's going through my whole head. I've had an ice compress on it the entire afternoon and drive home*thank god I wasn't driving, I don't think I could right now* and I've had so much extra strength excedrin right now that I really PROBABLY shouldn't take more but holy shit can I tell when it's wearing off, like woah, please just put me out of my misery already. Yeah there was blood, which has sort of finally stopped, but it still blips a little bit here and there if I end up messing with it too much, but I can't even really close my jaw right now, and the little bit of partial dozing I got an hour ago was only like, little half hour naps until I moved wrong and everything hort again.

Get better again soon and I really hope you can dull the pain quickly...and of course get your teeth properly looked over. Not counting the replacement, just the normal emergency service and first care :(
And yeah, having a tooth replaced is no fun <.<

I'm really sorry your commission isn't done yet btw, it's partially inked, but holiday ended up stalling quite a bit of art time on my end.
I really shuddered when I read this, because a while ago I managed to shatter a tooth myself. Not with a fall but by biting on a little stone in bread. The result was pretty similar and I just got it repaired with a dental bridge which drained my founds as well.
So I feel you there :/
I'm gonna get more info tomorrow if I can, hopefully, but jees, dental stuff is rediculous. and almost NO WHERE around here takes payment plans, either. they want everythign in full, up front ; _ ;'
At least in Germany I got the first aid for free (well at last my normal insurence paid for first care treatment) to extract the shattered tooth and close up the wound.
Bride itself came in with a bill of 2500 euros... no payment plan either, but at least not upfront.
I wish you all the luck that you can raise a bit of money quickly. Feel free to postpone my commission for a couple of days (read: as long as you need) until you hopefully can scrape together the money necessary to get at least some proper first care so the pain goes away again soon.
Getting it fully repaired..yeah that will take time and more money, but at least it won't hurt anymore
I cracked a tooth on an especially hard McDonald's french fry a few weeks ago. I contacted a dentist shortly afterward but they're still trying to get authorization to do the surgery. I hope you can get this dealt with sooner than later because I broke another tooth several years ago and it decayed to the point where it was incredibly painful. People seem to think dentistry is purely optional health care... it's really not.
I should buy something from you eventually. Not now, though... I'm similarly pinched financially. Will you be taking comms in December?
