November 20th, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and put down my cat my son Cinder. Since then I have had a lot more medical issues.
I currently have urinary retention which means that I am not able to pee, no matter how hard I try.
November 29th - Bardmoor Baycare ER
Went in because I hadn't been able to urinate, they stuck a catheter in me. Ran some test and couldn't find anything and then removed it because they decided to Baker Act me because I said that I have had suicidal thoughts, that lasted for like 10 hours until the psychiatrist saw me and was all like "Why did they send you here and why did they discharge you when you have urinary retention?"
November 30th - St Anthony's Baycare ER
After being released from being Baker Acted they sent me to St Anthony's to stick the catheter in. The DR on duty told me to leave the catheter in and set up an appointment to see a Urologist and that he will run some Urine culture and see if they find any bacteria growing and such. So I called the Urologist office and they soonest was December 8th.
December 1st - Largo Medical ER
Went to work, and about 3 hours into work when i went to dump the bag, I noticed light blood in it. So they called in the ambulance and I went to largo medical. They found an infection and prescribed Cipro and Pyridium, an antibiotic and something for the pain.
December 2nd - Bardmoor Baycare ER
Decided that I did not want this catheter in any more and wanted to try to see if I can pee so I admitted myself to the hospital. They removed the catheter and I still couldn't pee, so they stuck the catheter back in and I asked "Is there any way to see the Urologist sooner?" So the DR on duty called up the office and I was able to see him the same day.
The Urologist -
Basically he is completely confused as to the reason why I am having Urinary Retention. He told me to keep the catheter in for a week, let my bladder/urethra rest a bit. He gave me a refill on the Pyridium and gave me Flomax as well, something he gives to older men to help pee.
So now we are waiting a week to see..
But With all those visit to the hospital and such it's going to be costly.
I dont get insurance until next year so any little but helps
Let's hope and pray these medicine work!

With your insurance, you can always look into government assistance or loans. They can help get you the treatment you need. Times like this can be hard in life but medicines develop and get better though and new options are always available. I hope you can find something that will help you through.
Even if nothing is found, a catheter isnt as bad as it might seem once you get used to it. I have a family member who has had one for years and they still ride dirt bikes and travel all over the world. I'm sure you can enjoy life just the same ^_^
