Welcome to the fifth edition of the Fortnightly Furry Musicians Newsletter! And what a strikingly short newsletter it is...
It's just after Christmas, we're all going back to work, college, university, school, etc and combined with the "Express Yourself" Contest coming up soon, there isn't that much in the way of releases out at the moment, however I will do my best to still bring you a newsletter! By hook or by crook if need be.
So here goes, "newsletter lite" if you will, and I was rather tempted to begin the new year with a kinda... survey, or an analytic if you like, of what kinda genre's are musically represented within the furrymusicians group and how much of each thing is there, because it's a commonly held assumption that the furry musical world is mostly dominated by electronica musicians, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was less than absolute truth to that..
In that notion, and since it's easier than having everyone vote here and me count it, I've created a strawpoll and I'll look at it between now and the next newsletter and see what the results are and we'll see if the idea that electronica rules the fandom is actually true.
I've tried to give the categories a very general terminology to try and keep confusion to a low, so I combined Rock/Punk/Metal into one thing for ease of definition, Electronica is as one thing that includes R&B, House and anything like that go in there. Note, "R&B" and "Rhythm and Blues" are no longer one and the same, I dunno why they didn't call it "B&B", they already have "house", why not carry that joke over... no? Okay... I consulted my fellow musicians for help with the genre names so they should be okay, but if not, either pick "other" or the one that's closest. If you get confused, ask.
