when I saw him during a clip on CNN plugging his new album, He looked rather sickly I had no Idead how sick he really was. RIP Bowie you were one of the true greats.

Also I just watched the black star video and I have to say I think I understand the symbolism the astronaut (Major tom) was found dead his body was adorned with jewels and praised as a legend among that group of alien people. because in all truth the worship of skulls was a way to worship once living legends and ancestors in primitive cultures not for devil worship. In away Bowie is saying he is passing on, but he too will be remembered after death in the way of legends. the men on the crosses aren't religious symbolism, but showing how fans treat those whom may not like Bowies music, and Bowie ever the free thinker was trying to show that darker side of his fandom. As for the crosses them selves Romans used crucifixion as a way to execute people long before Christ, so Christians it's not always about us stop think everything with cross is. In this case the crosses are used to get attention as for those on the cross I will have to look closer at what those symbolize. but basically This album with it's darker tones was his way of saying He's dying. much like Johnny Cash's last album. they know death is near and wanted their fans to know it and give them one last hurrah before they left their mortal coil.

Srsly. Bowie was like a piece of furniture for our generation... he's always been there, and he'll always be there. All my heroes are dying of cancer: Basil Poledouris, Michael Crichton, Chris Squire, and now The Thin White Duke.

First Lemmy during the Xmas holidays, now David Bowie gone....that sucks out loud. >.<

Oddly, Bowie's 'Space Oddity' was the inspiration for 5 guys from Sweden to create + record a song & album called 'The Final Countdown', between 1981-1986. Those 5 guys, Joey Tempest(singer and lead songwriter), John Norum(guitarist), John Leven(bassist), Mic Michaeli(keyboards), and Ian Haugland(drums), are collectively known as EUROPE.

Thanks to David for helping to inspire those 5 guys to record their own musical impact in the world.
