Do you want a Kimet adopt?
What would be your ideal way of attaining one?
I haven't really been offering them here, because at first there was little to no interest.
But lately, I have been getting a lot of questions about it, so this is me prodding a little more to see if this is something you guys actually like!
Let me know your thoughts!
What are the Kimet?
Cheers <3!

I think they will be on the rage here
I think its a wonderful idea!
I've been fascinated with bird characters to a while now and I've been thinking about getting one for myself.
That said, the species is absolutely gorgeous and the information you gave on them really gives them character and brings them to life.
Totally something I can see myself saving up and getting! 💕
When it comes to answering your question about my ideal way of getting them, though adoptables tend to be the way people usually get closed species characters and I agree that it's a good idea, I'd personally like if I was given the option to have a bit more choice, just to get to put a bit of myself into it. Quick grabs are awesome, but I think some people who love the species will want that opportunity to maybe pick a few specific traits or colors they'd like to see in their character.
If demand were to ever get 'overwhelming', I'd probably start doing flat sale batches (occasionally featuring guest artists, who'd take home all the profit for their work), just to perhaps meet the demand a little more easily.
The other option I've been rolling around in the back of my mind are "Make Your Own" slots. Based on the model of other CosedSpecies owners, it could be a quick 10$ per slot (money that can buy me time to make more/cheaper flat sale designs if it ever came to that), but... I'm not sure where I sit with the MYO thing. I feel I'd be pretty picky about what gets called a 'Kimet', and the idea of having someone pay to design their own--and then having me be like "ok, but you need to change the clothes because ___, and the feet can't look like that" is like... Not something I want to go through LMAO The thai word is "greng jai", I'm not sure what the english translation of that feeling would be lmao.
I'm thinking MYO's will be limited to contest events only. Where I won't feel bad about advising folks to alter their designs so that it may fit properly with the canon.
I want everyone who desires a Kimet to have a Kimet! But within my comfort of being able to control the direction/development of the species. Is tricky!
but you could do flatrate on base adopts, PYOP adopts and even offer customs. i would save auctions for off base or rare trated designs. I fyou do myos you can make a basic base for people to use and list of allowed traits and if they want rare traits pay more. while i saw your issy abot MYO cause yes people are paying for thier own designs. but if you made a base for the event. people are pretty much buying the base and the right to make ONE of your closed species. for me i dont really like joining raffles because i find them too fishy. Random#generator or not. Not saying this towards you but most people doing myo raffles from what i have seen tend to chose thier friends, high paying customers and or popular artists at some point and its just really leaves at bad taste in the mouth. But i know a couple designers who actually abstain from that and i got a feeling you are also one of those abstainers.
I never do bases for my adopts [customs and flatsales], it's just not something I like doing * u*; it makes things a little slower, but imo it serves the species better in my case. I think though, if I did offer MYO's, I would provide a variety of bases (with varying shapes/body types) for people to work off of... Or like--a .swf paper-doll system, where you can pick and choose from a variety of body shapes, head shapes, beak shapes, tail shapes, etc--save out the image file, and use your selection of features as the 'base' for your MYO design. That would actually be pretty cool!! And it would certainly justify charging a small fee for the resources.
As for your experience with raffles: interesting!
If there is someone who entered a raffle who I really wanted to have a Kimet, I'd probably just offer them a free Kimet independently of the raffle. If there's anyone I wanted to have in the community that badly, 'cheating' in a raffle wouldn't be a very good way about it lmaaaooo
Thanks so much for your input!! It's been enlightening!!
im usually broke tho, but i'll longingly watch until i can afford!
Maybe switch it up a little? No reason you have to stick to one method! Auctions for customs/rare designs, free raffles if that's your favourite way of doing it, maybe something like 'Write a small background story for one of these kimets I've designed and I'll pick the ones I like best!', that kind of thing?
