doing a small, 4 page YCH comic since I am incredibly short on funds and I don't personally have any characters that fit the role
you would be paired up with this character https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....7/DHFFGHGJ.png brother of https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....ghhdfgdfgh.png

the YCH slot is below in red

I'll send a note asking for references is such
Well, I look forward to seeing the finished comic, thanks seth <3
To be fair I didn't think it would go for less than $600 anyway, but people are already giving me flack and sending hate notes for bidding $250. I didn't want to increase the bid by that amount again
Like, do you know how to bid?
He didn't even reply to the previous bidder. XP
As for Legitimacy I'd hope my numerous previous commissions would speak for themselves :)
There's a time limit. if someone bids over you, it's not the end of the world.
If you take it slow, SOMEONE will still win. If the time's not up yet, it's NOT his yet!
Sure there's usually an anti sniping rule, but it's in the last minute where you're supposed to start fighting for the prize!
You get this one guy who has a retardedly expendable income who's like "I WANT THIS AND NO ONE IS GOING TO HAVE IT BUT ME"
It just so happens that there's a TON of those people on this site.
Shoot, I should start making YCH auctions.
Also its a well known and well used tactic in auctions to bid big to scare people off.
That aside at 4 pages even the final bid is not actually that expensive it you looks at what Seth will get paid / hour, I would have been shocked if it went for under $400
All in all its not about including people ion the bidding process, the whole point on an auction is to get the most money people are willing to pay for a given item.
While I'm sure it's a decent tactic. It's pretty unnecessary to throw something from 0 to 9001 right from the start.
It's not scaring anyone away, it's just knocking anyone who doesn't have enough money out of the auction, just so you don't have to see them.
You basically paid about 200 dollars over what about 90% of the other bidders just so they can't bid.
You really only have about 4 other people to bid against after that.
Like I said. You know it's going to go high, but you're running 900 mph to a stop light that's only 1 mile away.
Think about it. If that first bid wasn't 200 over the starting price, the final bid...well, would be 200 less than it is now. lol
All in all, you're right, it really just comes down to Seth-Iova knowing that people don't know how to bid for something that started out at such a low price and are just going to toss money at his work since that's how most auctions on this site work out.
This is nothing that wasn't explained earlier though, You clearly feel very strongly about this and wont listen to reason, You're just arguing because you believe your way of thinking is "Right".
Yeah. I get it. You don't want the other person to win.
I simply explained my strategy and reasons for it.
I like to play it safe the whole way up.
While your strategy is to throw money at the screen.
I never said I was right. But I didn't say I was wrong either.
Like I said l. Different strategies. Nobody is wrong.
Do you get now?
