What are your artist pet peeves?

DeviantArt As in, what annoys you that artists do? Can be with how they run their gallery, what they post, or how they go about commissions. Anything!
I have done a journal before about art stuff in general I think when it comes to pet peeves, but I dunno if one just on artists.
I just wanna see if I could possibly improve on anything, though certain things I won't be able to change even if it is a peeve of others.
My biggest one is when artists have monthly or yearly "clean outs" with their gallery. I tend to unwatch people who do that. >3> I know I have said that before BUT SAYING IT AGAIN. ahaha.

FA+

-recycle the same ideas over and over and nothing different goes into their galleries
-do those same pose multiple different clothing versions (I don't mind sfw and nsfw versions but I mean ones that do like 4+ different clothing changes)
And those are the only things I can think of
Also, swamping themselves with work beyond acceptable.
I do not mean how the colors may be altered do to shading style or "mood" colors in the piece.
I mean straight up my character is red and they color it orange kind of thing.
Another is when they ignore an important marking or unique thing that makes your character yours and not just another fox... then refusing to fix it.
lazy/crazy anatomy
refusing to do anything new or try different body types x__x
If on a commission I can only understand if they make it clear ahead of time that fixes can't be made.
Pet peeves for me? Um... I guess seeing the same body type and face(think of sword art online lol) sort of irks me. There are really talented artist that do that anyways, but for me I get bored if I do that. Nippleless men still look weird, especially when the same artist give reptiles and birds nipples.
Oh, and someone else had brought this up in a journal before, but when artists say how much they hated working on a commission on that pic, like if they don't like the outcome or something. I've seen this only a couple times, but I dunno, it seems unprofessional.
-Artists who ask what they can improve on/what we would like to see from them....and they go back to doing what they were doing before/most comfortable with, and get mad at us for Critiquing them....like...why even ask us?...
-Artists who take on new commissions and don't plan to do them for a while, then take on more commissions and do the newer ones first before the older ones that came first.
-Artists that don't label their art or include credit to the character owner. Like...id like to know if the new commission they did is a new piece in their Cell Shade style, and this character belongs to (Insert link to owner here)
-They get annoyes if i ever ask about my art.
-Takes ages to answer.
-Been waiting ages on my art while they accept and finish Other high end arts.
-publicly favoritizing other comissioners and characters(and some downtalking my comissions)
Here are few that i can come up ontop of my head.
Oh and artists never checking bloody emails
And you have a site which is good. Even more plus åoints fpr actually telling the bloody customer when you are finished. Many artists dont do that and it is Annoying. So big chance for me to miss my art! D:
When they get mad when you point out something they messed up on your character when they said they can make changes for you.
Artists THAT CANT HANDLE CRITICISM AND THEN ASK FOR IT
Artists who follow EVERY FANDOM TREND and spam art of that fandom. Its okay to like fandoms but EVERY ARTIST DOING THE SAME THING WHEN A FANDOM COMES OUT SPAMS MY GALLERY. I hate getting like Steven Universe and Undertail spam....
Uhm I also dont like when artists go on hiatus and do not tell you whats going to happen to your commission
I hate when artists are super nice everytime you ask for a wip but never get amy further. Like i commissioned an artist a year or so ago for a traditional fullbody. Everytime i ask they are super sweet and tell me the have a sketch or so. They show me and i say it looks good. Then they say months later that they scrapped it and started all over again....Im not wanting to be rude to them because they are so nice but they jsut arent finishing it.
Idk thats all i can think of for now. Sorry for bad grammar i was typing this fast because my phone is dying.
Refuses to draw anything rapey, then proceeds to draw rape comics.
And and artist who only draws three same chsrscters for Weeks and nothing but samey porn of them(aka fangirling too much)
Oh and patreon paywalling.
Did i mention these three points are all one same artist?
Though I can understand certain topics that artists will only do personally. I have some friends who will only draw porn for themselves, but feel very uncomfortable doing porn for others.
Hoo, but something that always bothers me is when characters are drawn to look nnnothing like their species. Prime examples would be deer, otters and even FELINES who look like dogs. >:c Even saw this one person for whom I made a drawing whose character I didn't even know was a chinchilla until they told me because he looked like a dog/tiger thing in all of his commissions.
On DA I help run a furry group with a friend, and many times there are animals that try to go into certain folder but look NOTHING like that animal. So we decline them. lawl.
and what ya mean by "lit"? xD
And jeez, good on you for that. :T It's like people don't even try to make the character they draw look like the animal. S'why I'm a little iffy about commissioning other people to draw my characters. No better person to portray the character as the creator intended than the creator themselves.
TL;DR an artist I dealt with took my money, entirely refused to talk to me for a month even to question me on things they didn't understand, gave the the end result and refused to talk to me ever again.
And I know I can vote with my wallet on this but, there are too many YCHs with "multiple slots" that exceed the set cost of a commission the customer could actually customize from them. It's just...argh xD
-Artists that take commissions, then take more commissions before finishing the first set of commissions. I can understand some working out of order because of what they are in the mood for / have the "muse" for, but seeing my commission not get done for months while people who have only been waiting a week or two get their commissions done? That makes me so frustrated. D:
-Artists who take the money all up front, then you sit and wait for a long time before your commission is even started. I know there are trust issues both ways, but when i get a slot and my piece isn't even started for 8 months, why did I have to pay all upfront? I'd be more than happy to pay, like, a 25% fee as a deposit or something, but for larger commissions it seems a bit off to have to pay all upfront and then wait for such a long time. :x
Lastly, Artists who radically change their style between two commissions with no warnings. :(
On two occasions I've commissioned artists for the second time and the second piece was not up to par with the first one. Not so much quality, but the style was much less desirable. in one case, everything was just so generic like some of their recent comics it looked nothing like my character. Changing styles is part of being an artist I'm sure, but at the very lease update examples when you open for commissions!
Artist drama, I can understand those who just go through rough times and update their watchers just so they know what's happening or just need someone to talk to. Completely get it, things like that happen, it's sad but they happen. But it's the ones who seem to go through some calamity hour by hour, day by day, month by month, until you start ignoring them and loose all sympathy. Those ones tend to disappear from my watch list very quickly.
Those who get cutesy wootsy with their partners either in journals, comments, and where ever. Maybe it's because I'm kind of a cynical dick wad, but those kinds of things I find cringe worthy, and obnoxious.
BUT...
Artists who purposely close regular commissions and open very very limited slots at random with no warning, or just stick to YCHs and don't offer regular commissions - THIS DOES NOT BOTHER ME UNLESS it is done purposely so the one time they open a waiting list or something they can jack up the price to 200% because so many people are clamoring for a spot and are overly frustrated when they can't get one. They're basically purposely inflating demand to charge things at unreasonable prices.
If artists just do limited slots/YCHs, I don't see a problem, but if it's done so you can take advantage of people frustrated with your system, that's messed up.
The adoptable economy. Just that whole thing. Selling adoptables for over 200 or so dollars, re-selling them, trading them, using them as status symbols. Artists who basically make tons and tons of money when they make their species a "brand" and can easily rake in the cash for just making some new palettes. I mean, I understand needing to keep the lights on but 600 dollars from a batch of adoptables who are basically all the same pose colored differently? Jesus.
Artists who use their followers as a personal army to harass others. Or use their influence to get people hated in a community they are very prominent in.
Artists who are abusive to artists not on their skill level. Making fun of, posting their art on "bad art" sites, etc. These people also have this sort of condescending attitude when talking to viewers/inexperienced artists when they make critiques, kind of the "if you aren't the cook then you don't know what good food is" sort of thing.
Artists who are alright with their style stagnating, and take critique as personal attack.
I hate being the commissioner who asks how the progress is coming along on a commission, and feel like an ass doing so. But when I get told that I will have the product in Feb, I expect that to happen unless something drastic comes up. Then, when you get told it's being pushed back another month or two, after Feb is up, yet those stream commissions keep on coming. That's not exactly fair, imo.
The one thing I brought up on said journal aside, I really can't stand it when people use their accounts only to advertise their Patreon/Weasyl/Tumblr.
