I see this all the time at my job, I work at a wal-mart Auto center, only most of the times it's people leaving their dogs in the cars we're going to be working on.................. Sometimes [rarely] it's people traveling to visit family or something and they're taking their pet with them and they have to stop for something, flat tire, overdue on the oil change, I don't have a problem with those people, my problem is the ones that are local but just can't leave little fifi home. Though I've only seen one person claim a pet as a service dog, but I know what it's like lol.

i know this is gonna sound really stupid, but sometimes i really wish that stores/restaurants/ect. employed a person or couple people that could discern and make a final call on if a pet coming into an establishment is actually a service dog of some sort. like the person as proper certified paperwork and that the dog is properly trained and not confrontational or something.. but that sort of restriction just shits on all the people who actually need a type of service dog to function.. hate people who have to ruin things for everyone else.. :/

Hahaha this! I work at Target and it pains me when an obnoxious animal is causing issues in a no animals environment. I have no problems with actual service animals though, they're kinda neat.

I agree with this! I actually had a service dog on one of my days offer to take the receipt and hold it for the customer for me. But I don't like the dogs that is just barking at people.

And you're not supposed to pet or distract service dogs, but a lot of people do anyway.

My dog is actually an ESA, and would be a service dog if he wasn't too old for the task-specific training when I was first qualified for one. While he has the temperament to go into stores and the like and not cause issues and is 100% nonaggressive and quiet, it was just too late to train him for the tasks I need performed by a service animal. I wish I could take him with me everywhere as he's a tremendous help when I'm not doing well regardless, but I respect the laws regarding service animals. Then I see THESE EXACT FUCKING PEOPLE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT and I seethe. They just want their show-off material or child-replacement or whatever the hell it is. That or the dog is probably a shitstain and ruins their living-space when left alone cause HEY odds are that these people take shit care of their dog with what you're seeing! It pisses me off so fucking hard. I generally just loudly start shit-talking them in earshot. The shitty part is that employees can't do shit about it until the dog causes an issue or makes a mess (if even, and usually management has to handle it) because you're not allowed to accuse someone of having a fake service animal or ask about it and ughhghghhhhhhhh even though it's usually glaringly obvious. Then other shitheads think it's okay to take dogs in everywhere and WOOPS big problem.

Aww! That's probably what happened in my case, too. The dog was so quiet but curious. It was like a german shephard - pinscher - shiba mix or something.

Other than that, the only dog I've had a customer bring in was a little pom in her arms.

We don't even bring our service dog in places. Lol. While yes, she is a certified service dog, she gets too excited around other people, but she keeps my fiancé's mom alive when her cancer comes back and she doesn't know it. We don't even take her into petsmart half the time. Lol

There's one customer at my store with a "service dog" (I'm not sure if it really is one or not) will whine if he stops for a long period to talk to someone or wait in the bank line. I've talked to the manager and they said its his service dog. I've brought it up that service dogs are trained to be quiet while on the job, but nothing was done. If it was a one time thing it'd be ignorable, but its every time he's in the store.
